In comparing the results with a minidsp umik, it seems that my device is pretty accurate It is clear they have a great deal of chemistry. Under the assumption that Umik- If I were to evaluate accuracy, I would say 1 is pretty good.
During this process, it will read the ambient sound level and the compressor will be included. I don't think it matters which sound is heard at 300 feet. There is a weight of C and a fast and a slow option
As I sit down in my audiophile studio, I can detect ambient noise levels as low as My world would consider that to be a very low level. There isn't much you can do to overcome 30db even if you're looking for a lower noise floor.

My job is to test and write about computer hardware. Before I explain how the PT02 works, I should remind you that my job is to write about the PT02's workings. Testing includes checking noise levels as part of that process. It's been a while since I've used an entry-level meter, and the ones I've used in the past were all of extremely poor quality and inconsistent in In the meantime, when I was scouting new meters, I was hoping to find the IEC651 (later renamed IEC 60651) type 2 rated models. I actually don't mind that this is the lowest rating because most cheap meters don't even have any kind of rating at all and type 2 meters, let alone type 1 or type 0 meters, are too expensive for In my research I found the PT02, and since it was rated Type 2 there were no reviews, but given that I found no other reviews I decided to test it. I was extremely impressed with the overall construction before even attempting to use it. Almost all of the other cheap meters are made with thin plastic and feel and look I love it that it feels solid and has a nice weight to it. Furthermore, there is a rubber finish on the bottom to keep it gripped and protect it. It has a good backlit display and the buttons are easy to I do not know whether the PT02 meets the IEC651 standards, but I can say that it has performed much better than previous meters and has delivered consistent readings. The purchase made me so pleased with Protmex that I wanted to check out other products they have. There are a few meters with this same design that have different names, and in that regard this isn't really any different than the cheap meters I got in the first place. This product, however, is thousands of times better than all the other meters on the market. If I spent 3 or 4 times as much on a better meter, I would not be able to get it. Although I had never gone out of my way to write a review outside of my work, I was quite happy with the time I took to write this.
For the sake of clarification, I am a professional audio engineer, and db meters are an absolute For me, this one differs from the rest of them due to two things. I.
1. A pair of AAA batteries is required. Despite the fact that many people are able to use 9v batteries, I was limited to using my db meter as my only device that needed 9v batteries. Since I now only need to carry two batteries, I can reduce my carrying loads significantly. 2.
The instrument is capable of measuring up to 30 At 130 db. It's not as if I must limit myself to steps of *20db as most in this price range do. It is convenient to be able to view the full range of different pitches, which is very useful when I am playing music, since I can go from quiet to loud very quickly and I need to know how quiet and how loud I was going. It also has your standard speed and speed controls for the air conditioning, and a vacuum.
Since I am the sound guy for two bands, this device lets me not argue with band members about how to use it. The backstage sound is balanced in minutes and this device is the authority, and afterwards I can easily adjust the back stage monitors so they can all hear themselves, and the rest of the night is great since I am only dealing with the mains and I check overall volume/DB from time to time.
I was looking for a well-built, solid unit with features I was able to find in this one. Measuring is easy to read on this device and I particularly like the analog type linear display with the digital display as well. There are good written instructions explaining the various functions that come with the unit. (which is relatively uncommon in our world today) Db measurements are also provided for both A and C weightings. A simple interface makes it easy to use. Once the four AAA batteries (not included) are installed, turn the device on and it will begin When you see an "Over" or "Under," you simply need to push the up or down button until you're in the correct range to get the correct reading. You can see easily what the peak level of the sound is with the Max Hold button. With the fast and slow buttons, the dB reading can be shown instantly or over time. There is also a Sone button, which allows you to measure how loud an external sound is perceived as, for example, the sound of the It is typical for a fan such as this to have a sound level displayed on the fan. Having said that, this is generally a very good product that feels like a professional unit that costs many times more. However, it does not perform any recording or logging, and it is simply a handheld device. The product is excellent and the money was well spent even though I took a chance since there were no customer reviews when I ordered.
Considering my professional background as an Acoustical Engineer and Soundman, I can strongly recommend this SPL Meter, especially when coupled with the Tekoplus ND-700 Calibrator The other product I purchased from Amazon is the Sound Level Calibrator. When reading reports about sound levels, it is important that you adhere to the international industry testing standards in order to back up your findings.
But I have never been able to get it below 37 dB, even though the unit claims it can go down to 30 dB. There can still be 3 dB of noise in an enclosed room, even when there is sound. It seems that the sound levels of traffic and airplanes flying overhead are not too loud. With the rubber band I wrapped around the mic muff, it still came off and disappeared. As far as I can tell, all the functions work properly. There is a nylon case and plastic bracket on this unit and it feels solid. Written in broken English, the instructions are confusing.
It was inside a box when it was taken out. There is a 3db accuracy, which does not fall outside of In trying to locate the calibration procedure, I can't seem to find a contact number for the manufacturer. It would be nice if there was a way to keep the backlight on instead of turning it.
At the venues I work at, there are volume limits for the bar area as well as the bands. It was pretty accurate when I initially ran it side by side with a significantly more expensive and newly calibrated decibel meter. Having my own meter makes my employer happy, and it is nice to have my own meter available.
