Questions & Answers

The 10mm adapter for the dbx/rational does not appear on the website What's the deal with 420 microphones?

Our sincere thanks go out to you for getting in touch. I have attached the manufacturer's reply to this inquiry A sound calibrator adapter is not available for the R8090 sound calibrator.

Are you able to use it with a DDBX RTA meter?

According to the manufacturer, here is what he wrote In addition to 1/2" diameter microphones, the R8090 is compatible with 3/4" diameter I found that the "dbx rta m" has a 1. Did a quick internet search and found that it has a 1 in it. A 1cm diameter is equal to The size of the R8090 is 433" inch, so it will fit. In order to determine the frequency and accuracy of the instrument, the manufacturer suggests reviewing the Data Sheet."

Can it be fitted with 1/4", 1/2", AND 1" diameter microphone adapters? On different web pages, there is different information. ?

Likewise, the instructions for the Reed SC-29 Instruction Manual give conflicting information The 05 unit is divided into pages that state 1/4", 1/2" and 1" microphones can be calibrated, and then there is a page that states 1/4", 1/2" and 1". The unit we currently have will only accept noise level meters up to 1/2".

Is there a calibration certificate included with this device?

It's hard for me to say. A certificate doesn't appear to have been presented to me. At the moment, I don't have the unit with me because I have it at work, and I only used it twice when I received It's on my list if I can remember to check on it next week. Thanks a lot

You should always check the voltage of the battery Upon arrival, a new device has a dead battery and the switch is set to on
4/5

You can replace the Duracell 9VDC battery and it produces the proper frequency and DB after that. You should always test the battery voltage before calibrating Sound level devices in order to make sure they are functioning properly and calibrated properly.

Accurate and simple to use
5/5

My Reed 8090 enabled me to check the accuracy of an inexpensive BAFX3608 sound meter, and it worked flawlessly every time. The Reed is easy to use and is reliable. It can be used to check the calibration of your measurement results quickly!.

A tool for calibrating a sound meter that is easy to use
5/5

In terms of calibration, it is like the method for calibrating sound meters that I have used in the past.

I can't think of any device that is better for the price! As a calibration expert I have used expensive calibrators in the past and this one has found to be the most accurate
5/5

In order to work in law, one needs a cal certificate from B&H My SPL meters are all within a fraction of a dB of each other even though they are from the same manufacturer or NIST or K. In response to No matter how many decibels noise creates in the environment, is it really a big deal? It will be of interest to me to be educated on this subject.

Is adequate for the job
4/5

I think this still does the job, but I don't like the way it is. I've found it to be 2 db quieter than other 94 db calibrators I've.

As far as I can tell, it does its job
5/5

This is the only calibrated sound meter you'll need if you care about being accurate. Neither a bell nor whistle are present on the unit. You can set it to be either 94dB or 114dB @ 1kHz by switching the switch to the ON position. Detailed information is available at the Reed Instruments website. Please include the following information under the heading The safety of our guests is our top priority This is a measure of sound. This calibration unit will convert sound meters with a 1/2" diameter microphone shaft to a test signal. In my search for calibration units, I found this unit to be the least expensive as all the other units I found were around The price range is between $00 and $1000. I gave it five stars because it works well and I was able to get it for the best delivered price I could find, which took me a couple of days to find. Those two reasons lead me to recommend this product and based on my own personal experience, I am confident it delivers what it promises. There's no better feeling than being happy. I have to admit that this review is brief. A no whistle policy isn't something it's feasible to say many things about This is the type of product that has a bell in it. I was able to find the best delivered price with this product. This product will do what you need as a best price device to then check the calibration of your measuring instrument with a 1/2" microphone column, if that is what you must have. I hope the above information will help you make an informed purchase.
