Questions & Answers
Because the image of the ruler that came with this question says "made in the United States," the answer is yes.
Yes, both sides have a 0 that runs from left to right.
There is some flex in the ruler. It's not a huge sum, and I'm sure you could make it work. You wouldn't be able to use it as a straight edge, in my opinion.

To remove it, I had to use a razer scaper, goof off, and Denatured Alcohal. It also removed the numbers that had been printed on the wall. The jackass could have placed the stick on the back, where it would be blank.
This is a fantastic product for a home shop or do-it-yourselfer, but not for a store, at least not mine. I bought this for my upholstery shop, and it's sturdy and has nice markings and numbers on it. If you're working quickly and make a mistake, you won't be able to remove the marks with chemical. The numbers and marks are easily removed with a damp cloth. I have other 6 foot sticks that I can clean with lacquer thinner and the marks stay on, but this one was just touched with chemical and I ended up with a bare metal spot with no marks and no indents because they are only printed. It's now nothing more than a straight edge for fabric cutting.
Some of the markings have been removed due to scratching along the face - It's not looking good for the future. Ends have been damaged or have been poorly cut. unbalanced/bent, and in need of de-cluttering burred. The markings were covered by a sticker placed on the front face by Amazon. These stickers are difficult to remove without damaging the surface. You might be able to get away with using a different manufacturer. br>br>.
Straight Edge did exactly what it said it would do. It's not as rigid as I'd like, but it'll do for now. br>br>Shipping: br>br>Shipping: br>br>Shipping: br>A shipping label was attached to one end of the straight edge, and an invoice envelope was attached to the other. I struggled to remove the invoice envelope from one end, but the shipping envelope's glue was too aggressive, and some of the numbering was removed. On the other hand, the shipping label on the straight edge's front will not peel off. br>br>Due to the shipping issue, what could have been a good purchase is no longer worthwhile.
The accuracy is GARBAGE, despite the fact that it is attractive and easy to read. Over the entire length of the straight edge, the inches scale has been shifted by about 1/32" (see photo). And while 1/32" might not matter much at 48", that is better than a 3% of error at 1". br>br>The good news is that the true overall length is 48" on the nose, and the metric scale is perfectly accurate.
Metric (2 mm) and imperial (1/16 inch) units are both easy to read. It's made of durable aluminum that's thick enough. It serves as a measuring tool as well as a router and circular saw guide rail. You can't beat the price/quality ratio. br>One of the few products still bearing the Made in USA label.
And it's a big one! The 6 foot ruler I purchased was shipped in a thick cardboard tube to prevent it from being damaged or bent during transit. The ruler's pricing label was on the BACK SIDE, not the numerical side. I've never seen a better high-quality ruler! It's an excellent carpentry tool, but it's also an excellent quilting tool! An excellent tool at a great price! My purchase has made me extremely happy!.
At 13", the markings are linearly offset, and at 95", they are 1/8" off. As a result, this instrument is useless for precise measurements. Another annoyance is the product stickers that have been placed on the front of the device. To remove the stickers, I used goo-ga-ga-ga-ga-ga-ga-g The mark measurements were erased as a result of the disappearance of the mark. I suppose I should be grateful that the measurements were off in the first place. This is a tool that I do not recommend.
