Until I discovered this tool, making perfect cuts had always been a challenge. I saw a pipe fitter using one and went online to see where I could get one. The tool is made of a cardboard-type treated paper that is inexpensive, thick enough to allow for quick and easy marking of the pipe with a marker, heavy duty enough to last for years, and wraps around the pipe with ease to align it. Without using "Bologna Cuts" (angled cuts), I now make all of my cuts with a high margin of error.
After about a week of use, it began to crack.
It doesn't appear that he will last a single day at work! I immediately returned it.
If you're like me, you had an old wraparound that looked like it was made of Garlock 900. This new wraparound is made of flimsy pathetic paper, so don't waste your money.
3/5/2020br>The main reason I bought this tool is to be able to draw straight lines around a pipe before cutting it. br>br>Every pipe fitter should have this tool.
This is exactly what I was looking for in terms of sturdiness and accuracy. It's made of tough material and is simple to use. It stays in place, and I've had no problems with it. It was well worth the money.
One of these was used to mark a bunch of tubing that needed to be cut at a friend's shop. I was so taken with it that I went out and purchased one for myself. This is a fantastic, low-cost tool.
