Hello! These rulers will reflect some light due to the nature of stainless steel. It all depends on the environment in which you use your camera and how you shoot them. I see that a couple of product purchasers have made some photography-related recommendations that might be useful.
I assume they're from Germany because they're stamped Bremen Precision GmbH.

These stainless steel rulers from BREMAN are of excellent quality. The proportions are ideal. Ends are cut at right angles (except for the ones with hanger holes, of course), and they're built to last a lifetime. The zero points are nearly perfect, and the edges are clean but not overly so. The etchings in black are extremely well-done. Only the low price would make me suspicious of a German product, as it says "Precision GmbH" - if at all possible.
There are three hanging rules in my picture, but there is no "Machinists - Rule for cutting squares It's as if they ran out of what they had at the factory and spliced in an extra. They're also thinner than regular stainless steel rulers, which makes them ideal for amateurs. These aren't even made out of stainless steel. They slam into magnets that are held close by. br>I've discovered that anything from China labeled "Stainless Steel" was approved by a bribed inspector. If they're made of stainless steel, they're the worst I've ever seen. The Last Straw - br>br> I sent an email (complete with a photo!). ) to the Seller "Amazon Fulfillment," the seller deflects and responds. Talk to them about it. "Are you serious, Amazon? Is this something you let happen in your shop? A basic, high-quality, and accurate metal ruler is always in short supply for me. I finally let go of my self-control and bought these. It's a great deal and it's spot on. It's a nice mix of rules. Given the scale, I found the numbered imprints to be as big as they could be. I had no problems with readability. If you're concerned about sharp edges, check before giving it to the kids, as another reviewer suggested. For the house, I'm going to need a new set. It's far too useful to only have one set.
From inches to millimeters and back again! These are in use at my place of business. I used to have those cheapo tape measures with mm on the bottom and inches on the top, but they weren't nearly as accurate as these rulers. I've used them to measure bolt widths and lengths as well as adjustment measurements for the machinery I work with on several occasions. For the price, they're a good to have around because they're a good alternative to calipers in some situations where calipers simply won't do the job.
They don't have an "extra" at the end to allow you to get an accurate measurement. They're tough and simple to use. They are protected by plastic sleeves (which I cut away a small portion of to make them easier to remove). According to the seller, these are made in communist China (rather than Bremen, Germany, as someone else claimed).
It's just awful. Because the edges were not precisely cut at the start, it was impossible to measure right from the edge. Metal that bends like aluminum but isn't as expensive as aluminum. Plastic, wood, and plexiglass are all scratched by the sharp edges. br>br>WARNING: DO NOT RECOMMEND. I bought it because I needed it quickly and Amazon had it. I went to Home Depot on a whim.
Steel rulers and t squares are among my many tools. I was looking for a few that were a little shorter. I like to draw and paint, and a straight edge is sometimes necessary. I would not recommend them because they are extremely difficult to read.
Are they worth the money? They have super fine marks at all the right scales, and they have a fantastic price point. They're made of heavy gauge aluminum, so they're sturdy, heavy, and robust; my only complaint is that they have a little too much reflective shine, and the black print could be a little darker. Aside from that, they do a good job of serving their purpose.
