On the dial face, there's a great indicator and a useful dual readout

I've used a few other people's test indicators at our makerspace, and the feel and quality of this dial is miles ahead of the cheap Chinese ones I've used before, which were good enough to indicate a difference or wobble but not good enough to take an actual measurement. I understand that dial test indicators are more of a test instrument than a measuring tool, but the needle movements are precise and repeatable enough that I have a lot more faith in this indicator than I have in the others I've used. Clearly not the best instrument money can buy, but undeniably a great bargain. It will take a long time for my machining skills to catch up to this dial's accuracy, so I'm happy.
