It's not worth the price, cheaply made, not worth the price

I wanted to use it again, but after using it just once it had lost all value. I learned that the "On" and "Off" labels on the magnet are backward, which is not a big deal, but it still gives me a headache. We weren't able to use the arm for any reason since the threading where it connects to the magnetic block completely stripped out. The magnet block is made from some very cheap pot steel that won't withstand the You can get something better quality by skipping this item.

This item works well for holding my test indicator from the same brand (very nice as well). In addition to sticking to flat surfaces, the relief on the bottom allows it to stick to round surfaces, like my spindle housing. With a single knob, the arm can be adjusted very easily. As the collars rotate on the arms, the arms can be articulated in any direction you prefer.

On the magnetic base of the tape are stripped threads, which result in a flimsy holding power. Ball joints are flimsy and fall from any position you set them in due to the stripped threads holding it to the base. There's so much play in the arm due to the stripped threads holding it to the base. When you tap it, it falls off whatever you mount it to because there is no magnetic strength. It was a relief to be able to return it.

This gage arm looks great with the gage I also ordered in the same red. It is a little small next to a standard arm but I am still enjoying it. Note that the gage is sold separately and yes, it has fine adjustment.
