My mill mostly uses dial indicators, so I needed this swivel mainly for one of the many dial indicators I use. geometry of the stud/tightening portion is not perfect, so it is difficult to use on a shaft diameter measured in US measurements. This is 250". A 375" wheel. It is relatively easy to tighten if one shaft diameter is installed and tightened separately, however if two shaft diameters are installed and tightened together, things get a bit more tricky. Initially, I was able to increase the torque for the factory clamps by placing a flat washer between the knurled nut and the clamp body. Approximately 250" shaft. After I turned a shaft to , I turned another shaft to It is 245. In the 246" the indicator cannot be used on both sides No flat wahser should be added to the rod 375") and shaft to tighten equally with the knurled knob. In order to clamp the full circle, the clamp inner holes need to be deburred of sharp edges that touch the shaft. This is so- There is the possibility of adding a flat washer that may diminish space and movement in certain needs. Or perhaps buy a different brand? A lot of effort for something so basic. There is no science behind it.
In order to line up my jaws for drilling and tapping, I use this to hold my indicator. This is as it should be!.
My dial indicator and a large paper clip needed to be held by this. There was no room for it. A second one came with my test indicator set, so I didn't have to buy another.
Fit was perfect, and the price was great.
