Questions & Answers

Why does it need oil all over it if it is stainless steel?

The term stainless steel refers to numerous alloys (variations). There are different levels of resistance to corrosion, so not all materials corrode. You should keep your gauges as accurate as possible by using the oil.

The bolt is thick from the bolt end to the bolt end, or is it different thicknesses? Does it have a tapered shape?

The thickness of the bolt and the end of the bolt are the same.

The Junk File This is not stainless steel
3/5

Just the bracket is made of stainless steel. Despite only being used for four months, the blades rusted badly. The thickness of the rust reduces the accuracy of a fine feeler gauge. You get what you pay for, and it only costs a few bucks. This should have been a red flag to me.

A pile of garbage covered in oil, not stainless steel
3/5

Had I read the other reviews, I would have made a better decision. There is no stainless in this. When I opened it, the case already was corroding even though it was dripping with odious machine It is impossible to obtain accurate measurements with the feelers since they are stamped and rolled on the edges. It's garbage in every sense of the word.

There are no numbers on the gauge that I can read
3/5

am unable to read the numbers on the gauge I received, and with all the scratches on it, I assume it has been used until the numbers started to wear If I get someone to replace it with a new one with readable numbers, I will see what happens.

THIS IS NOT AISI 304 stainless steel
3/5

No stainless steel is used in the construction of this gauge. The one I got rusted quickly after I removed the oil coating that was on them when they were You can find stainless steel elsewhere if you want to get rid of the rust. Just soak them in vinegar to clean them off.

Description of the item is awful
3/5

In the description, not all sizes are mentioned. Has only one range 0 - 1. It is "025". This is a total waste of time.

A great deal of accuracy, within 1/1000 inches
5/5

My expectations were exceeded and this is exactly what I expected. A caliper I checked the gauges against showed a reading of 001 or 1/1000th of an inch. That was even less than Please wear gloves as the antiseptic has the potential to cause skin irritation There is a scent to the rust oil coating and one needs to wash his hands quite a bit before the scent leaves.

You've hit the nail on the head
5/5

The information provided is accurate and well crafted. In other words, not for spark plugs, but if there are very small gaps or clearances, i. e. Keeping a close eye on the clearances on flat surfaces for warpage.
