Whenever acrylic is manipulated, it can break or weaken. Extruded acrylic is more likely to shred or weaken. There is no reason to reduce the cost of casting.

It's likely that the finish of the product will be an important element to you if you are ordering it for any application other than rocket fuel. In my experience, the seller I ordered from "Small Parts" did not take reasonable measures to ensure aesthetic value. I received two sloppily cut and chipped units. It will take additional machining for the product to be useful for any sort of application even though I did not expect the product to be polished. As well, there was no plastic wrap or anything like that provided to preserve the finish in the product. Placed in a box without a second thought. There is no doubt about it. The seller used a paper sticker on the bare finish of the material as a final touch. There are several kinds of paper-based labels available. The most common type is paper labels with inexpensive, aggressive adhesive. These labels cannot be removed without solvent or mechanical scrapers. A product such as this is useless with an acrylic surface finish, as you cannot do that. For the stickers to be applied to the cut edge or a more professional label to be used, it would have been a simple thing, but QC is nonexistent. However, the pieces would still fall short of the measurement by 1/8 even with those adjustments. It would take you an additional 1/8 inch to remove the large chips if you had the time to work with it. If you're looking for a vendor with quality control, look for one who has an approved system. In the unlikely event you are locked into this vendor, plan on keeping costs low. In their product advertisement, they say all the right things, but what they actually deliver is something else altogether.
It's an acrylic rod made from clear acrylic. There was a lot of cloudy glass and the ends weren't polished, but that's what you see Chop saw and machine it were the means by which I cut.
I like the chunk of acrylic rod you have there. There is no problem with it at all.
I enjoyed the piece as a whole. I liked that the edges were not sharp, just what I was looking for.
There are no scratches on this perfectly clear screen. I am very happy with my.
