It is always best to choose the 6", as it will provide more zinc exposure and ions that will protect your

rust-free since it is made of pure zinc. It is more effective than galvanized steel roof guards (steel sheets coated with a thin layer of zinc) since the thin zinc coating will eventually wear away, revealing the steel which will rust and discolor the The difference between zinc and steel is that zinc does not rust.

Taking your time will pay off

As a first step, I used a solution of sodium hypochlorite (the active ingredient in bleach but I used pool shock) mixed with TSP. Let the spray sit for 30 minutes and spray the shingles. Once that's been done, hose it In this way, the existing lichen was killed and some of the black streaks were removed. Spraying resulted in the lichen turning white during the first few days, but the white remained for a long time. My next step was to install the zinc strips about a month later. In the ranch house I have I used more than the recommended width of the liner strip. For roof runs of 12 ft, I used a 3" liner, and for runs of 18 ft I used a 6" liner. My results have begun to show 4 months after I began the program. The first thing I notice is that no new black streaks or lichen are forming, and the remaining black streaks are finally fading. Below are a few things to keep in mind if you plan to use I. *. The installation can be dangerous if your roof pitch is steep or your roof is high. If you plan to do the job yourself, you should use a safety harness. You can install it yourself or hire a professional to do so. 3.
In the case of a spray, it will cause damage to plants on the ground if applied. 1.
2. Roofing is hard to handle when using the spray solution. It was apparent that single granules were being shed. In my opinion, you should only perform this spray 3.
It is time to re-do I shingled my roof over 12 years ago (30 year shingles) and used algae resistant shingles, but that only proved effective for about 4 years before we noticed Then read on. Rather than waiting for the black streaks to appear, I would apply these zinc strips instantly if I had a new roof. ** Note 6. My first attempt was with a non-alcoholic beverage I like products that contain bleach, such as wet-cleaning Let's not forget. . . They didn't do anything, according to me. *As a conclusion There are zinc strips available, but they aren't a quick fix by any means. I will not be able to determine the final outcome for at least six months.

and box are great" "Zinc and box do not get along"

The result I wanted is here. A 1 1/2" metal roofing screw was used to install 75 feet of metal roofing. I used a caulking gun to apply tar under the zinc strip and I screwed it 18" apart at the top and bottom 1 1/2" from the edge. Wet the bottom of the pool with water by letting it flow through. Make sure there are no traps for Using serrated scissors or aviation snips, it is very easy to cut the strip. The roll was secured with a large spring clamp and two bricks to prevent it from distending and rolling off. Poorly packaged and hanging out of plastic wrap, the shipment arrived in poor condition. We have two rolls of zinc that feel like they weigh about four to five pounds each. It was only the tape on the box that held everything together. It is necessary to double box it.

Moose is killed by this solution
5/5

In three years, I have seen a lot of moss growing on the northern side of the roof due to my not putting this up after the roof completion. Unless you remove the ridge cap shingles, nail this up, and either replace or reuse the ridge cap shingles so that all nail heads holding the Zinc down are covered, there is no way to retrofit this to stop it from leaking. If the rubber backed nails are left exposed, they will leak eventually, but it may be difficult to do it right so it doesn't leak, since it depends on which circumstances are present.

Keeping moss off a roof in the long term is the most effective way
5/5

For the roof of my building, I am going to use this to prevent moss growth. When it comes to moss, it's installed near the peak of your roof on the shaded side. If you currently have moss on your roof, apply a product designed to deal with it first, and then install this to prevent regrowth of it.

There are no mold or moss growing on the roof

It fits right under the shingles, second row down from the ridge cap. * Lift a nail and shoot it under each tab of the shingle. I am very happy with how this works. The roof looks awesome, and there is.

I have never seen anything like it

This will result in more zinc flowing down your roof for the same length of coverage and installation effort. If you do this, be careful Hands should be gloved - When I tried to put my gloves on, my finger slashed.

That was a great solution, and it will last for a long time

This product is used on roofs that are moss and algae-filled. The zinc chemicals were distributed across the roof over time by rain, and the moss naturally disappeared. It took about 4 months for the roof to get clean. That was a great solution, and it will last for a long time.
