Questions & Answers

It does not say whether it is solid or braided, despite the fact that it appears to be braided in the picture. ?

It isn't braided in any way. It has a good foundation.

Is it possible to use this copper wire to ground an in-line transformer? connect a lightning arrester to an 8-foot power line ground rod made of copper, such as the is- b50hn- the is- or ma nemp- ?

This wire is used to ground my above-ground pool, which has passed inspection, as well as my Ham radio station. This isn't a problem; it's exactly what's needed.

Will it be able to stand on its own if the base is anchored?

It will hold up to a point because it is solid copper and not as flimsy as braided copper, for example. After that, like any other metal, its weight will overcome its rigidity.

Will this corrode if exposed to the elements, or is it passivated in some way?

It hasn't corroded while I've been using it outside, and you can get it with a cover if you want.

This is fantastic
5/5

The negative reviews that include photos are those that. I was going to return it after reading other reviews about how to use it for art pieces. However, I decided to give it a shot because of a special request. This is fantastic. People who didn't use the proper bending tools are the ones who left negative reviews with photos. If you do it by hand, your work will look like it was done by a 5-year-old. My piece worked the first time, and the ends cut well, so I used my rubber coated pliers, bender, and finished it by hand. br>I've discovered that if you're using the wrong tools, you can't blame the product.

It does exactly what it says! Amazon and Cerrowire came to my rescue when I needed 50 feet of 8 gauge bare copper wire to connect my antenna to my ground rod for lightning protection
5/5

As advertised, the wire comes in a 50-foot roll. It had been kink-free for a long time. It's free, and I hope I'll never need it, but it's exactly what I was looking for. Thank you for your help, Team; you did a fantastic job!.

When I needed about 45 feet of heavy copper ground wire at a reasonable price, I went to my neighborhood big box home improvement store - after which it was abandoned- When I realized that my only options were to (a) buy a 100' or larger roll of wire at a reasonable price per foot or (b) buy a cut-to-size roll of wire, I was left empty-handed
5/5

A ridiculously long piece of wire for a ridiculously low price per food. Option (c) was my choice. The best option was to go home and order online; the Cerrowire 8 gauge wire is of excellent quality: - Strong and 8 gauge in diameter, but bendable enough for routing into junction boxes and other applications. I found exactly what I needed. I was able to obtain the wire in a length that met my requirements for a reasonable price per foot. If you need 8 gauge ground wire, this is an excellent product at an affordable price.

OMG! Any standard AWG Ring Terminals will not fit or function with this Copper Wire
3/5

This is the most absurd thing I have ever heard. to ever find a lame bare solid Copper Wire Ring Terminal Connectors are a type of connector that is used to connect two or more terminals together. I started with what should have been a good investment. 6 AWG Ring Terminal Connectors would have been a compatible Ring Terminal Connectors for this particular 6 AWG Copper Wire. Surprisingly, a large number of people attended. I ordered 8 AWG Ring Terminals in the hopes that the smaller Ring Terminals would fit snugly and securely on this 6 AWG Copper Wire. WRONG! This Gauge Copper Wire does not work for this Gauge Copper Wire! Still, it's too big. . . Finally, in the hopes of a perfect fit, I ordered 10 AWG Ring Terminals for this 6 AWG Copper Wire. When I got the ten AWG Ring Terminals, I was really excited. When I tried to slid this 6 AWG Copper Wire into one of the 10 AWG Ring Terminals, it turned out to be another total failure on my part. my end with this 6 AWG Copper Wire that I've been looking for for a long time Because the 10 AWG Ring Terminals were just a tad too small to fit the 6 AWG Copper Wire into, I needed to find a proper Ring Terminal. Urghh! Finally, I had to decide whether to use a 5/32 Drill bit to slightly drill out some of the metal on the latest now too small 10 AWG Ring Terminals in order to create an odd but compatible Ring Terminal size that would snugly fit. do the job for with the now ridiculous 6 AWG Copper Wire required for an inline Coaxial Lightning Arrestor, which is required by law Should only be grounded with 6 AWG Solid Copper Wire, such as this one, for which I wrote a review. Now, as lame as it sounds, As repulsive as it may appear based on my personal experience From a practical standpoint, this 6 Gauge Copper Wire will not fit or work with any 6, 8, or even 10 AWG Ring Terminals, but will only fit into a Man-Made Terminal. A slightly drilled out 10 AWG Ring Terminal was used to make a 9 AWG Ring Terminal. This is due to the fact that a 9 AWG Ring Terminal does not exist on the market. I spent almost $26 on this purchase. 00 on various AWG Ring Terminals of various sizes in the search for Try one of the three sizes of Ring Terminals available. work on this copper wire with a diameter of 6 AWG I still couldn't get a 9 AWG Ring Terminal to work until I made one out of a slightly drilled out 10 AWG Ring Terminal!.

This wire is ideal for my requirements
5/5

This wire was purchased to serve as a depositing wire in my electroforming project. It is extremely thick, hard, and difficult to cut. I needed to upgrade my craft plier cutters because they weren't cutting through very well. It was difficult even back then, so I have a hacksaw and a Dremel tool with a cutter blade on hand. It was to be expected based on the size gauge. br>br>After cutting the length and coiling it to fit my tank. This copper deposited well on the first try. It had a gleaming appearance and a firm grip. It was very easy to clean up. The wire was flaking white after the first acid bath, and I was told it was phosphorous and that I should leave it alone rather than cleaning it. So far, I've left it on with each bath after cleaning it off with steel wool once. Everything is still running smoothly and steadily. br>br>I cut a shorter length to use as a ring band and it worked out beautifully. I used the ball part of a small hammer to make a hammered effect, which looked great and added texture to cover any ugly spots once it was flattened. I even attempted to solder it with flux and rosin core solder last night. It was a cinch to use. I'm optimistic about the rest of this spool. I'll buy from you again without a doubt.
