Questions & Answers
That is not the case. To ensure that I have the correct drill bit size, I simply use my digital calipers.
You can, but it won't be easy. I use mine to use epoxy to secure knife handles.
They're either on or within. a tolerance of one
My personal approach is to epoxy them in place and then use a dremel cutoff wheel to cut them close after they cure. Then, as I'm shaping the handle, I sand them smooth. Because brass is a soft metal, it can be easily cut with a fine tooth metal saw blade.

I'm a John Deere ag tech student, and these come in handy when working on transmissions and bearings that require a brass punch in my job. I bought two sets of these and they haven't let me down in the least. I plan on purchasing a third set for home use to work on my cars.
On Amazon, I was looking for brass punches and came across the "Sutemribor Brass Round Rods Bar Assorted Diameter 2-Inch" product. During my search, the phrase "8mm (21pc)" came up. I decided to give them a try because they were much less expensive than actual brass punches. I haven't used them for anything stuck or difficult to remove yet, but they work fine for routine brass punching (mostly on guns) and are much less expensive than regular brass punches. However, before making a purchase, make sure to check the sizes. Because each size is made up of multiple dowels, there isn't a wide range of sizes to choose from. They're flexible enough to bend rather than break, but tough enough to handle medium-duty punching.
I've only recently begun making knives, and this set has proven to be ideal for the handles. I've made six knives with this product so far and have had no problems; however, if you need to know the exact diameter, you'll need a caliper or micrometer because the knives aren't labeled. For storage, the rods come in a sturdy, resealable plastic pouch. I'd buy it again in a heartbeat.
I teach wood shop, and one of my students wanted to make a fly box with a pin style hinge made of brass. This was available in a variety of sizes, allowing him to find the ideal fit. He was able to easily peen the pin, and it was a nice complement to his project. These were exactly as described, and they were purchased at a reasonable price.
This collection of brass rods is quite nice. I bought these for a project I'm working on. The only thing I can say is that don't expect nice, shiny brass rods. Mine was slightly oxidized when I received it. It will shine with a little Dremel polishing, but keep in mind that these rods do not have a clear coat to keep them shiny. Aside from that, the set is quite nice.
a handy little bag of small brass round stock I needed a small brass bushing and didn't feel like driving 20 miles to buy a small chunk of brass so I bought this off the internet and was able to make a bushing from the 8mm rod just fine. this is not a precise rod the one I used was a bit over 8mm when I measured it with my caliper it measured just over 8mm by less than 0. 1mm. However, for the money, it's a good size.
Accuracy. If there was a difference, it was measured infrequently across all of the pieces with a value of 0. 01mm. Most of them were spot on, and I highly recommend them.
I snatched these up to use as steel punches. They're less likely to damage something harder because they're a softer metal. The smaller ones will bend, but they can easily be bent back to semi-permanent positions. When used as a punch, they all mushroom and distort, but this is to be expected and has no bearing on their utility. They could be thrown away for the price, but you can easily file or cut them back to get the edge you want. I haven't managed to get rid of any of them yet. And the small pack has proven to be extremely useful.
