Brass is usually made from zinc and copper, but I believe a small amount of lead is sometimes added for ductility. I'm not sure if this product contains lead, but I have a feeling it doesn't.

It appealed to me because it was a brass rod with a diameter of 3/8" and a length of 14". Because I'm not a metallurgist, I have no idea how good the brass is. br>br>I was hoping to make a rod that could be used to tap a squib bullet out of a gun barrel. I cut the rod to length, reduced the diameter so that part of it could fit down the gun barrel easily, and glued a handle to the 3/8"-diameter section. Because I've never had a squib, I haven't used it yet.
I needed this to make a wad knocker, and this was exactly what I needed.
To keep moisture out, it came shrink-wrapped to a cardboard back. You did an excellent job. br>Size is correct, and it's exactly what I was looking for, as the local big box no longer sells brass.
Tolerances are good, true, and straight. No voids.
