It's not going to happen. If you wanted to bend it, you would need a vise and a hammer.
Stainless steel is a tough material, and I doubt you could bend it to be used as the handle on a bench vise.
It is really difficult for me to answer this question! Purchasing it for polymer clay use was my reasoning. Although I do not know its original purpose, I am sure it has some significance. Please accept my apology for not being able to assist.
The product is super durable, so I do not see why it won't hold up. The rod is half an inch stainless steel, but you would have to attach it to something or install a counter sink hole to secure A heavy machine would probably be the only way you can bend or break it.

THIS IS NOT AISI 304 stainless steel. Stainless steel is not suitable for this application. The steel lab rod I ordered is NOT stainless steel, as it was supposed to be. I believe, though, that it is a high-quality aluminum alloy that can be machined. In comparison to stainless steel, this does not have the same weight or hardness. So I didn't have time to return and wait for it to arrive, so I used it and it works well, but if you use it with other stainless steel type surfaces then you'll need to use some form of never-rust. Don't go on.

In this case it was extremely difficult to cut the rod. I would have preferred a softer rod for my project. In spite of that, I was pleasantly surprised at the machined surfaces, the affordable price, and the quick delivery.
The product arrived well-packaged, in good shape. As expected, the finish is nice.
It was a disappointment. According to this article, 36" is the correct size, not 84". My project got thrown off due to this. Thanks for ruining my deadline.
Despite his crookedness, Rod remained a good student.
I like it.
