Silicon tubing with an ID of 1/2 inch and an OD of 3/4 inch is what I have. Fits so tightly that it barely does the job, but it performs.

I attached clamp to 1/4 inch plastic ice maker water line and tightened adjustment screw with hand pressure until I couldn't turn it any tighter. This clamp proved useless for stopping water flow in a fridge ice maker 1/4 inch plastic water line. After applying channel lock pliers to the adjustment knob, I tightened until it couldn't be turned anymore but water flowed through it. My solution was to remove the clamp and bend the water line back over itself, stopping the flow under the water line until I could connect it. The clamp ended up in the garbage.

. This is an expensive piece for a small size. I found it to be worth it. The price and longevity of this product do not warrant a five-star rating. In case of failure, it will update.
This tool is a good deal at this price point. clamp can swivel on the lower jaw to allow it to go around a hose This large screw head permits a firm grip without additional tools and allows for tight clamping of the pieces by hand. Despite the slightly rounded jaw, it is not easy to cut the hose with it.
A great product, expensive but it works, and it is very easy to control the flow of water, for instance drip feeding a plant directly from the faucet.
It is nice to have the possibility to open up the end cap. It works fine for me.
I have had no problems with this product. Those of us over the age of 40 can easily tighten it down firmly because the knob is big enough.
Having bought this product, I am very pleased with it. It is superb for light clamping tasks.
