What about the sharpness of these?

Surgical blades are what you're looking at. In my experience, there isn't much sharper than this.

Are these blades compatible with the Xacto handle?

No, a scalpel handle is required.

For my children's arts and crafts projects, I need something small and sharp. Is this something you can use?

These are, after all, minor issues. And it's a razor's edge. I don't think I'd recommend them to anyone younger than a very trustworthy teenager because I barely trust myself with them. The consequences of a slip could be devastating.

The design is shoddy

It's difficult to use because of the blade's angle. Because the tip is so sharp, it'll come in handy if you're doing precision carving. A curved blade design, on the other hand, is something I prefer.

Do not make a purchase. These weren't nearly as sharp as they could have been. It's such a letdown and a pain to use. When other options for similar prices exist, I would never recommend it.

I'd prefer it if they got to a point where they could be more precise. I purchased a box of 11s a while back, and the tip geometry was different. I'm not sure where to look for them, and I haven't been able to do so since they went missing.
