Given the price of first-aid supplies, this is a fantastic deal
5/5

Since I read on a craft forum a few years ago that scalpels were both cheaper and more effective than X-Acto knives, I've been using them instead of X-Acto knives. I've been purchasing Acto knives in the number 10 and 11 scalpel blades, as well as first aid kits, for my craft work. There isn't much to say because almost all of the blades appear to be made of the same type of carbon steel and are incredibly sharp. I have some decent surgical-grade handles that could be better machined. br>br>I suppose the most important feature is that there are a few common problems that can occur when using bad blades, but none of them were present here. They can be poorly packaged, and they have in the past. Putting a proper scalpel end on them can be difficult. These were very simple to put in. Finally, the blades have a tendency to split easily, but none of these have done so. br>br>When you consider the cost of 100 of these, which is remarkably low given the pandemic crisis, I am completely satisfied, if not delighted. Finally, a word of caution: these things are much sharper than even the best X-ray machines. When installing acto and carving knives on the handle, extreme caution is advised.

Super- With a nice point, it's very sharp
5/5

The image of this product makes it appear as though the tip does not come to a sharp point for some reason. That photo needs to be fixed by the seller! It does, after all, come to a fine point, and the blades are razor-sharp! These are far superior to using a needle to remove blackheads and milla. You can easily make a small cut with a steady hand, and the blades are so sharp that you won't even notice. br>br>To go with these, I would recommend getting a nice metal three scalpel handle. A good one will usually cost less than $10 and last for a long time. Small scalpel blades can't be used safely without a handle, so if you're including them in a first-aid kit, make sure you include one as well. Scalpel blades and a handle are excellent substitutes for "hobby knives" in addition to medical applications. The initial investment is comparable, but scalpels provide far more blades for the money, and they are far sharper. The only disadvantages of scalpel blades over hobby knives are that they are smaller, thinner, and more likely to break due to their hardening to achieve that fine edge. Because the blades are so inexpensive, you can change them out more frequently and ensure that you always have a sharp blade to work with. br>br>DO NOT try to put a scalpel blade on a handle with your fingers; you will cut yourself. Hemostats, small needle nose plyers, or tweezers can be used to grasp the blade's back end. Slowly pull the blade over the end of the handle, allowing it to slip into the slots on the side, and continue pulling until the blade is completely onto the handle. It should sit flat and securely when you let go. If this is your first time using scalpel blades, you won't need to apply much pressure to get them to cut because they are much thinner and sharper than hobby knives. br>br>If this is your first time using scalpel blades, you won't need to apply much pressure to get them to cut because they are much thinner and sharper than hobby knives. Just don't try to lift or pry with them because they're made of hardened steel and could break.

It exceeded my expectations; in fact, the tip is sharper than the product image suggests
5/5

I ordered this item because I recently purchased a titanium keychain style/sized folding scalpel, the Nitecore NTK05, which is also available on Amazon, and because that product uses replaceable 11 scalpel blades, I knew I'd need/want to replace the blade when it became dull. Anyway, I didn't have high hopes for these blades because, as you can see in the fourth photo (at the time of writing this review, they may have changed it by the time you read this), the blade appears to bend downward at the tip and the tip appears to be squared off, fatter, and less sharp. This is not the case, as evidenced by the photographs I took. From the base to the tip, the blade's face is razor sharp! It isn't squared off, it isn't wider, and it isn't as dull as it appears in the product photos. I simply cropped the second photo and inserted it at the end to show the tip zoomed in. br>br>The bottom line is that this blade exceeded my expectations, and I am extremely pleased with my purchase. These blades are sharp enough to shave, cut paper with ease, and do all the other fun things that razor sharp blades can do, so they pass the sharpness test with flying colors. Are they the sharpest? No, my DE feather hi-tech blades are sharper. Stainless razor blades are much sharper, but they are only used for shaving, so they must be as sharp as possible. That said, they're still sharp enough to be called "razor sharp," and because they're not as sharp as feathers, they'll hold their edge better, allowing them to stay sharper for longer. For this type of blade, I think it's a good compromise; I'd rather sacrifice some sharpness in exchange for more consistent performance and longer blade life between replacements. br>br>In conclusion, I am extremely pleased with and even surprised by my purchase. I didn't expect such consistent sharpness and a nice finish throughout the blade, from tip to base. I strongly advise you to purchase these. It's a no-brainer at this price point. Simply pick up a box; you will not be sorry. If you want a sharp blade on your keychain, I'd recommend pairing these with the Nitecore NTK05. This way, you'll always have one on hand for that one time you need a very sharp blade (which could be many times). They also make a full-sized scalpel called the NTK07, but it's not cheap. If I don't forget, I'll add a section to this review about the blades' durability and performance. ) I hope this review has been helpful in making your decision!.

For the price, it's a steal! For the price, these are undoubtedly excellent blades! br>I do a lot of cutting and leather work
5/5

I've only recently begun to use these blades, but they're razor-sharp and perform admirably! br>When cutting, you must be able to control the blade, but that is true of any task.
