Questions & Answers

This would be ideal for hanging a gallon of water for my gravity assist steam iron (I'm a professional seamstress). Is that much weight too much for it to bear?

I don't believe so. My pole, in fact, snapped after the first use. I had to use heavy duty tape on the tightening mechanism in order to keep the pole from collapsing. As a result, I doubt it could support the weight of a gallon of water.

What is the length of the top bar?

The top bar is about 11 inches wide. 5" long. The foundation is more substantial.

What is the lowest possible height for this?

It has a height of 47".

What is the pole's diameter? Is it a 3/4-inch or a 1/2-inch thickness?

The pole is divided into two sections, allowing you to adjust the height to your liking. The pole has a 1 inch diameter at the bottom and a 3/4 inch diameter at the top. The horizontal hook for the IV bag is 1/2 inch wide.

For giving fluids to my cat, this is a must-have
5/5

I am overjoyed that I purchased this pole. I have to give fluids to my cat on a weekly basis. The vet suggested hanging the IV bag on a door, but that would require me to relocate the cat rather than administering the fluids where the cat prefers to sleep. She'd be irritated, and keeping her still long enough to get the fluids in would be difficult. I looked on Amazon and came across this IV pole, which I decided to try. It arrived quickly, and it took only a few minutes to put together. It's very sturdy and looks exactly like the one at the vet's office; now I can roll the fluids to the cat instead of moving her, which would agitate her. She's calmer now, and she just lays there (with a few treats) while I administer the fluids. Considering the cost of the solution, etc. , purchasing a pole was a bargain, and I can't imagine not having one. When I told the vet that I'd found a good deal on an IV pole on Amazon, she thought it was a great idea and said she'd tell her other clients who needed fluids about it.

It works perfectly

if you can figure out how to assemble it. Why did we not purchase this earlier? We've been giving fluid treatments to our male cat since September, and we've had to do so before with another cat. With the pole, administering these treatments is made 20 times easier. It's well-built and long-lasting. It's not flashy, but it accomplishes the task at hand. However, there is one flaw that prevents me from giving this five stars. br>br>There is one flaw that prevents me from giving this five stars. The instructions for putting it all together are nearly useless. They make references to parts that aren't present, and they instruct you to do things that would only make sense with illustrations (which there aren't any). Fortunately, if you're spatially and/or mechanically inclined, the assembly is simple enough to figure out. The manufacturer, on the other hand, must correct the instructions for those who aren't.

Solid and dependable! I bought this to hold the IV bag for my cat, as have other reviewers
5/5

I didn't expect much in terms of quality because it was such a low price. I simply desired an alternative to hanging the IV bag from my curtain rod. br>br>However, this is a very sturdy, adjustable pole that I would not hesitate to recommend for human or animal use. It's got a nice wheelbase. a home-use base; The wheels glide easily over carpet or hardwood floors, and they aren't too wide.

This item is ideal for use at home
5/5

First and foremost, Big Apple Supplies shipped this item extremely quickly. I had this thing up and running in less than 24 hours after placing my order, and I had selected standard shipping. br>br>I bought this to help me give fluids to my cat. It's a tough piece of gear that's simple to put together and ideal for my needs. I needed a steady holder for the bag so that I could read the amount being injected, as well as a way to store the bag and accessories up above where they might get damaged. It's convenient to be able to store this in a room's corner and simply slide it over when I need it.

It has a good range of motion and rolls smoothly
4/5

This was used to treat our cat's liver disease. She has claws, which made doing her IV a lot easier. It has a good range of motion and rolls smoothly. It was inexpensive, but I'm not sure why you'd want to pay more for it. br>br>I say our cat had liver disease because after going to the emergency room and spending over $1000 to bring her back from the brink of death, we were told that we would have to give her IV every other day for the rest of her life; we tried and it was a nightmare; we eventually had to reduce it to once a week. Then we came to a halt and started a twice-daily regimen of nasal aspirator water. We eventually reduced the water to once a week because she now drinks plenty of water on her own. Without the IV, our cat appears to be in perfect health. She also only eats dry foods. br>br>So, if your cat has been rushed to the ER and you need an IV stand, this one will suffice. If you're not sure if you can keep poking your cat and are thinking about giving up, try using an aspirator. I sincerely hope it proves to be beneficial to you.

I'm glad I bought this pole for Snagglepuss; I've been using it for a few weeks
5/5

Because of the positive reviews I read, I decided to purchase it. I concur with those who gave it a perfect score. My cat has kidney failure, and our veterinarian advised us to begin administering subcutaneous fluid injections to her. When we first gave Snagglepuss his IV, we hung the Ringer's Solution bag on a hanger from a floor lamp. We used a 3/4" 20 gauge needle, and the injection took about 5 to 6 minutes. According to what I read, the flow rate would increase if the bag was hung higher. So I bought this IV stand, and it works exactly as described in the instructions. We can now inject 100ml in about three minutes by hanging the bag higher than the floor lamp. Time: 5–4 minutes Snagglepuss, who dislikes sitting still, will appreciate it. By the way, the injections appear to be working because Sangglepuss is improving and one of his bad kidney numbers has begun to decrease, according to the veterinarian. One concern I had prior to purchasing the pole was that we planned to use it on a thick carpet, and I was concerned that it would tip over. But no - Because of the way it's built and the way the legs are attached to the pole to keep it stable, this isn't an issue. As a result, my fears were unfounded. I'm glad I decided to purchase the pole. I'm amazed at how good quality can be had for such a low price.

It's sturdy and extensible
5/5

A sturdy, stable, extendable system that I use in conjunction with an Amazon-available water bag with shower head to allow my health care aide to wash my wife's hair without having to move her from her hospital bed to her wheelchair, which is painful. I combine the above-mentioned items with the heavy-duty equipment. Also available here is a heavy-duty plastic Inbed Head Wash System. The 3- system of parts - The drainable plastic head basin, an extendable IV pole on wheels, and a hanging plastic water bag My wife's life has become significantly more comfortable as a result of this, and she no longer suffers from anxiety. Both the home health care worker and I found it to be a stress reliever.
