Nursing is my profession and I have been working at it for more than 30 years. Since we have taken a lot of blood pressures on different brands and types of blood pressure cuffs, we have a lot of experience. I don't like the way this cuff is designed. In practice, sphygmomanometers cannot be read at a convenient angle since artery markers need to be lined up with arteries. This purchase did not meet our expectations.
There are two issues with the meter from the beginning. It is stuck on the cuff in an awkward place that will require uncomfortably close proximity to the patient and if you are using it on the right arm, it will be on the underside of the There is only one arm that can be attached to it (so it works for only The second issue is that the tubing falls off of the balloon every time. The third is that the balloon dial can become extremely tight, so tight that you won't be able to get it to loosen. Waste of time and resources.
It folds down small (one of the reasons I chose this type of cuff), gives precise results, but it is hard to use the manometer in the beginning (you have to twist it each time.
I feel like it is of a high The brand we use at the hospital is this one. They were so impressed when I showed up with this that my nursing peers and even faculty were impressed with me. I love it, and it works perfectly. I recommend you to buy.
Six months after I began using it, I still use it five days a week. My purchase works fine, but I think I would consider getting the traditional cuff or an automatic back if I were to buy for a second time. In cases where the patient was laying in bed and I was standing, it was sometimes hard to see the fixed gauge.
The Welch Company has my trust - Alyn has always been a friend. A quality product with excellent performance is made by them. Compared to other ones, this one does not stand out for its performance. I was shocked by the news- I think the price is justified by the water-resistance feature. However, the quality perception is somewhat disappointing. As mentioned by other reviewers, the plastic cuff feels cheap and frail, and the sphygmomanometer cannot be turned. If you want to measure the blood pressure on the opposing arm, before attaching the sphygmo to the other arm, you'll need to disengage it and reattach it again in the appropriate That's just not handy! In the end, this is an accurate product from a reliable source, and this makes me feel assured I'm reading the real thing. As a relatively inexpensive product from a renowned, quality manufacturer, it's unrealistic to expect the sphygmo to solve all of the ergonomic issues that people may raise. When you look for the same quality plus greater comfort, choose Welch's There is an alternative, but much more expensive sphygmo available to Allyn.
I really like this product!! The BP cuff in this picture is for an adult. It would be best to use the red large adult cuff for larger patients (not included in the package). I've been tubing & surfing You can easily remove the gauge reader and snap into one of Welch's smaller (green) or larger (red) bp cuffs. There is a bladder inside the bag. It is interchangeable. For reading the artery mark on either arm, simply turn the gauge upside down, as if it were a bifocal. Easy to do.
The easy cleaning of these is more appealing than the cloth style. It is in my thigh pocket when I run 911 vehicles, which means I don't have to hunt for my BPC when I'm driving. The cuff is lighter and less bulky than a conventional one. Before I went to the hospital to test a saline bag, I didn't know how expensive they are until I lost my first one (which was given to me). In the end, I bought another of these cuffs after going back to a regular cuff. This is the only EMS company I would recommend. A nice effort, but not perfect!.
