Selected User Reviews For TENFLY Tromner Reflex Hammer with Pointed Tip Handle, for Neurologic Reflex Diagnosis and Testing
Patients cannot be hit with this hammer. This is not the hammer for you if you're looking for the Tromners used by neurologists, which have soft silicon tips and a good weight. Hard rubber tips, flimsy plastic handle, and razor-sharp pointed end br>br>On Amazon, MDFs cost an extra $8. Stay away from this cheap junk if you want to do yourself a favor.
For work, I prefer reflex hammers with flexible plastic handles, such as the Tromner style (an MDF model has been my workhorse for years). I frequently purchase these low-cost versions for the sake of experimentation. This model's specifications are as follows: The handle was flimsy and a little off-center. In comparison to similar models, plastic appears to be lighter and less expensive. The pointy end is permanently attached and cannot be removed. Because the rubber head is a little firm, smaller reflexes (brachioradialis) may be more difficult to elicit. It's more functional than the end of a stethoscope and probably slightly better than the edge of a heavy phone in a plastic case for a medical student or any specialty that doesn't involve the nervous system. However, if you want to test your reflexes, I recommend getting something else.
I like how heavy the hammer is and how easily the rubber tips can be replaced. I get hurt by the sharp handle tip on occasion, but I like having it available for quick sensory testing.
I didn't think I'd be happy with a reflex hammer, but this is the ideal exam tool: light weight, well balanced, and with the perfect amount of flexibility in the handle.
In general, this is a good reflex hammer. It's a good weight, and it allows for quick reflexes. It's possible that the handle is flimsy.
This reflex hammer is strong, well-balanced, and well-made. The pointy end is ideal for assessing sharp and dull objects, and it complies with regulations. Would buy again in a heartbeat.
Overall, this is a good product.
