The hammer is compact enough to fit into your scrub or white coat pocket (but only just) and is still powerful enough to effectively handle the job. A balanced head that is of high quality. An unscrewable head makes carrying the reflex hammer in your pocket convenient. The head can be removed and reattached at a 90 degree angle. while you are using it, the head can come undone as well. With the red tip at the end of the hammer, you can test red desaturation, and the bottom of the hammer has a pointy tip that you can use to elicit the plantar response without getting scratched. A week after buying this hammer, the red tip slipped off and my hammer was lost.
Babinski, for whom this hammer is named.
During my clinical examination and OSCE I use it and I can elicit reflexes just fine. I think this one is better than the classic rubbery plastic hammer since when you hold it properly the weight of the hammer becomes one hammer head and not your hand.

She bought it for her new job as an NP, and she has to tighten the rubber knob back on to the metal rod every time she runs more than three tests on a patient. I consider a non-profit to be one of the most important A medical professional, it seems as though this isn't a piece of equipment that should be failing.
My concern is that if it is fragile at the neck, it will not last very long?.
Reflex hammers like this are excellent There is also an "sharp" tip at the end, but it isn't very sharp, and should not particularly be relied upon to distinguish sharp from dull sensations - This is a good reflex gun for beginners since it gets the reflex the first time you use it. If you need such a tool, then a neurological hammer with a brush and pin is the better choice. There is a hammer that is even longer and with a flexible stem that I found and I am not giving it a 5 star rating. But you'll be sure not to go wrong with the "combat reflex hammer. ".
