I believe it was tint 5 that was recommended for oxy-. Welding with acetylene. Tint 7- is recommended by an online search for arc welding. 14 (10). As a result, I wouldn't recommend using them for arc welding.

Fits well over prescription glasses of any size. They may not work well if you have large lenses or frames. Two stars deducted because the item arrived scratched and unprotected in a mailing bag full of other items. Shipping on Amazon has sunk to new lows. I'll keep them because I'll only use them once in a while, I need them for a project right now, and the scratches don't impair my vision significantly. Because of the shipping issue, I'm unlikely to order any more eyewear from Amazon.
They're comfortable, have a nice tint for gas welding, and fit over prescription glasses at a great price. But, for spark protection, I went out and bought a full face shield, and it's just easier to flip the face shield down if you need glasses. They come highly recommended from me.
I needed it, but it wasn't what I wanted. Although I had hoped to receive a shaded pair of these safety glasses, I received the standard clear pair instead.
COVID can be absorbed through the membranes in the eyes, according to the CDC. Many shields are excessively large, and ordinary sunglasses are insufficient. This one provides a little more defense. These aren't attractive, and I appear to have recently undergone cataract surgery! It makes no difference if they provide slightly better COVID protection.
Great pair of glasses. When I'm up on rooftops with a white rubber roof, it protects my eyes. I have no problems with these glasses, and they are comfortable to wear over my regular glasses.
Because the first pair arrived scrawled, I sent them back. Replacements arrived scratched as well, but the tint appears to be in good condition, and they felt lighter.
It's perfect for me because it's a medium shade that I can wear over my glasses while plasma cutting.
