They must weigh about ten pounds, in my opinion.
Whether you mean "directly against one another" or "back-to-back" depends on your definition of "directly against one another." "back" or "side-by-side" are terms used to describe a situation where two people are side".
It's not a good idea to join two rails together. Any seam can cause the bearings to pinch or wear out. A better solution would be to install a plate on one bearing block and then attach the second rail to that plate, effectively connecting the two rails. That should give you the extra range you need without putting your bearings in danger.
Mine are 30mm wide and 150mm long, and the holes aren't perfectly drilled. I found that there was a variation of - a few holes with a diameter of 1mm However, I had no problems as a result of this.

I studied, researched, and looked into a variety of options before coming across this system. br>I give this a perfect ten on a scale of one to ten. It was the ideal choice for my application, in which I needed precise movement to make large timber cuts with my electric chain saw. It was extremely helpful in resolving my issue. In terms of load bearing capacity, the four carriage blocks provide excellent weight distribution for guiding the chainsaw and bar when making plunge cuts, and the secondary horizontal linear rail system guides the horizontal cut for a superb cut. This system is highly recommended due to the high level of quality that was put into it. I bought the metric bolts from ACE HARDWARE and was blown away by how quickly and precisely they went in. The carriage blocks are of good quality, and the stainless steel rails make it easy for the carriage to glide. br>It comes highly recommended. I hope this has been of assistance.
My project was put on hold for a while, but I'm finally getting around to putting the rails together. The bearing blocks that come with these (I have eight blocks and four rails) are of poor quality. I have three that are a little easier to move around, and five that are a little more difficult. Unless you want to play in the blocks, no amount of tweaking the adjustments will help. I would not recommend it to others for anything even remotely precise; the only use I can think of is for a heavy drawer slide, for which there are less expensive alternatives.
These are highly recommended. I'm using them in conjunction with a bandsaw on a sled. For my purposes, the supported rails are a must-have. I tried the bracketed rails, but they have too much play. This purchase has made me very happy.
Due to the balls falling out, the project was never completed. Because of that, I didn't want to take a chance with it.
There was no bowing in the rails, and the SS tracks were well polished. To make the linear bearings run as smoothly as possible, they must be adjusted. Even after adjustment, the bearings appear rough until they are loaded, at which point they run smoothly. br>br>These work well for my application (linear guide rails), but I wouldn't recommend them for high-precision or low-load applications (CNC, printing) simply because of how the bearings behave when not loaded.
I received exactly what I expected and for which I paid. They weren't straight out of the box, but after loosening and re-tightening them, they were good to go. Tightening the mounting bolts helped to straighten them out enough for my small hobby CNC project.
Before using, it was necessary to thoroughly clean the bearings.
Excellent product.
