Stainless steel with a high level of hardness. It's possible they're not stainless, although I don't think they are. They should be able to hold up to what a bicycle can throw at them.

In line with other posters here, I was going to simply state "a bag of 144 ball bearings. ". This is a big deal. Then to my surprise, I received a message from an unknown number We were delighted to find 152 ball bearings in the bag! The way Amazon is going if they just give away huge quantities of stuff like this, I don't know how they can stay in business!.
Since I have been commuting to school with my old bike for the past 5 years, I had to rescue it from a garbage pile before that. There was no doubt about it every part that was capable of needing service was repaired. In order to determine the correct size bearing to use before I started refurbishing it, I picked up one bag of each size. Without knowing the exact size, I picked up one bag of each size. I haven't used these bearings yet, but the other ones I purchased are working perfectly. Replace your bearings regularly and the surfaces will last longer. (You won't need to replace your wheels or bottom brackets as often if you do this). **Sheldon Brown Bearings has some good info about what bearing size is needed for that part on his website. For the majority of bottom brackets and rear hubs, 1/4" is important for the majority of front hubs, 3/16".
Upon 20 years of use, I had to replace the factory headset bearings on my They originally had 16 balls in two cages, one on top and one on the Rather than caged bearings, these loose ones have been used instead. One ball was left over in the bottom race. In the top race, 26 balls were used, and 23 in the bottom race. As a 200 lb rider, I would have struggled with the caged bearings, but now that the loose balls are there in larger numbers, the headset feels solid and adjusts properly.
After I fixed my sliding tool box drawers, I was able to use them again. It was because of the size of the two sets of sliders that the non-working drawer was too large for my replacements, and I purchased these instead, which It was a pleasure talking with.
Due to the damaged bearing retainer on my old Fuji Allegro headset (the part that keeps the bearings at the same distance from one another), I was not able to adjust the headset There are more grease rings that fit, so I packed them with grease in order to close the races. Now it works perfectly, maybe even I recommend it!.
