The one I got was made in China and had a current test date on it, but it wasn't stamped for retest or overpressure.
Yes. Check with your local gas supplier, though. Mine, on the other hand, was filled with argon. The D is the most crucial piece of information. The bottle is stamped with the date and certification. I'd also bring a copy of your invoice as proof that it's yours. The guy looked for the D after I finished my filling. For a name stamped on the neck, as well as a certification date. A new bottle, of course, has no name imprinted on it. My tank also has a sticker that says, "Cylinders certified and stamped to UN ISO9809-2002." 1 USA . The discussion of the D continues. the conditions To cut a long story short, the guy confirmed the tank was genuine in about two seconds. He scribbled down all of the necessary information. I scribbled "pay the people in the office" on a scrap piece of paper, and it all happened much faster than I had anticipated. br> I was a little too long-winded. I'm getting a little winded on this one because I remember how nervous I was about making such a large purchase and not knowing if it would be filled. Everything is fine with me. br>I hope that this information is useful. BB.

It arrived in a sturdy cardboard box with a layer of heavy brown packing paper on the bottom. The box was a little beat up, but that's to be expected with such a heavy item. My main concern was getting it filled, so I reached out to a local mom-and-pop welding supply (Marse) in Metairie, Louisiana. They said it was fine as long as it didn't say anything about the company and the DOT date code was up to date. My bottle had the date 2018/03 stamped on it. If you're curious, my purchase date is November 11, 2019. For additional proof, I brought my purchase invoice. It was completely stuffed.
This tank is less expensive than the first month's rent, so it's a fantastic deal! Three additional MIG tanks and two pure Argon tanks for TIG welding are on my shopping list. I'm very pleased with this "workaround" solution for not having to rent tanks!.
The bottle I received was stamped with a manufacturers origin of China, and while the test was current, 03/2018, it wasn't stamped for retest or 2010% overcharge. This made it difficult for me to exchange the bottle at my gas station.
It's a gas cylinder, and I was able to easily remove and replace it. It doesn't have to be much more than that.
After calling around, I took it in to be filled. Only the 125 cf cylinders were accepted at the two locations that would accept it in exchange for a filled cylinder. One offered $85, while the other offered $58 in exchange. When compared to buying from a local store with the same price and price to fill, I saved nearly $130.
I took it to my local welding shop, where it was filled with argon without any problems or questions.
I was able to exchange the cylinder with ease at my local welding gas supply store.
