Anywhere I've been, an empty bottle costs $250-$300. $300 With this new bottle, you can get your own refilled for $50-$100 depending on where you live. $60 +/- It's absurd to have to pay rent!
When tanks are full, they can get hot, and when they cool down, you'll lose a few hundred pounds of pressure. To keep the tank cooler, aluminum scuba tanks must be filled with water.
The height of a 125 cubic foot argon cylinder, plus your regulator, is 43 inches.
It was black when I got it.

My argon cylinder with a capacity of 125 cubic feet arrived quickly at my front door! I was given a properly filled cylinder (2000psi at 35°F ambient). The cylinder (40 degrees f) has a great hydro date of less than a year, in my case 2019, which is fantastic. I'm overjoyed because I was able to outbid my local competitors, including Airgas, on price!.
Upon arrival, I was very impressed with the packaging and condition of the tank. Within two months of purchase, it was stamped brand new. Regrettably, it appeared that I was the only one who had received a nearly empty tank. However, when I contacted the seller (weldfabulous), they were extremely accommodating and even offered to pay for the tank to be filled locally. For those who don't know, most gas suppliers will only exchange tanks rather than filling the one you already have, so buying a brand new tank seems pointless if you don't get to keep it. Some suppliers will only exchange tanks if they were purchased from them in the first place. Fortunately, a nearby Praxair was willing to exchange my new tank for one of their "used" full tanks. Weldfabulous was kind enough to cover the cost of the exchange. In my experience, I would have been better off purchasing a tank from Praxair to begin with (and yes, there are no monthly or annual fees) and continuing to exchange it with them when the tank was empty. Make sure you do your homework! I would definitely buy from them again if I could fill this tank without having to worry about exchanging for someone else's used tank. Their customer service has exceeded my expectations.
Throughout the day. I checked the new bottle first thing when it arrived, and it was full of argon. I call BS on the review that claims his LWS sold him a 300cf bottle for $300 out the door! That was not the case! At least in east Tennessee, LWS will not sell anything over 80cf and will only lease it. Only Thoroughbred can sell a bottle that big. A full bottle of Thoroughbred 125cf was less expensive than an empty bottle. Thank you very much, Weldfabulous.
This item was delivered with a signature. FedEx delivered exactly what I needed to my door. Because I don't weld very often, this appears to be the most cost-effective method of purchasing gas. In my area, there are a lot of has suppliers, so I should be fine when I need refills. Leasing tanks and paying for exchanges for such minor welding would be prohibitively expensive. Full tank that is brand new and certified. The contents of the gas are clearly marked.
This order arrived in just two days, was well-packaged, and in good condition. The date stamp was exactly as described (09/20), and the bottle appeared to be freshly painted with no major dents or flaws. Additionally, the pressure was higher than stated. br>br>I live over an hour and a half from the nearest big town with welding supplies, and getting away from work during the week when most of these shops are open is difficult. The ability to place an order online and receive a full bottle customized to your specifications in two days beats the drive any day! Not to mention the fact that the prices were lower than in local stores. br>br>I'll be using this vendor again in the future. Excellent customer service!.
I haven't had it refilled yet, so I can't comment on any gas supply issues in my area. They did offer me a no-hassle policy over the phone, as long as the tank was current and safe. The box was well-packaged, and the paint job is thick and smooth. Even though I'm not a pro, all of the stamping appears to be correct, and deciphering the code wasn't too difficult. I had just under 2000psi in the tank, and it ran through my practice tig machine perfectly. The top was kind of painted on, so I used a ball peen hammer with electrical tape over the face and gently tapped while turning. Valve appears to be in excellent condition. There will be no second chances! In fact, I also placed an order for a 5 co2 tank. Owning a tank is so much cheaper than renting one for home use that they don't even rent 125cuft tanks to residential people in my area, so I'm not afraid to spray some gas and melt metal in the name of practice. It was only the 1980s for a few years. Im happy! Just go for it!.
My Argon cylinder arrived today, and what can I say, it's a stunning, brand new black cylinder full of gas. br>The REAL story is that Fedex misplaced my order and delivered it to the wrong address. I assumed it had been delivered because it had been signed for. Weldfabulous worked with Fedex to resolve the issue, kept me informed of their progress, and I received the package in perfect condition today. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK.
$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ Right now, everything is way too expensive! It's a steel gas cylinder, so it's not particularly heavy. If you don't know what you're doing, you don't know what you're doing. br>Now it's time to ship! It arrived in a flimsy cardboard box. However, this isn't a problem. The screw-on steel cap that should have protected the valve was missing from the tank, and the valve knob was broken! The steel cap protects the valve on a cylinder with a pressure of @ 3000-psi. Inside, there's a lot of psi. If the cap had been properly screwed on, there's no way it could have come unscrewed (at 10 to 15 threads)! In addition, I must now locate and purchase a broken valve knob! This is primarily a matter of safety for the shipper!.
