Most people complain about the thin and fragile (pVC insulation) power supply cable provided on this soldering station, and some complain about how uncomfortable it is in comparison to the silicone insulation on most other It's definitely better to have silicone wires, but I'm not against the PVC cable either. However, when hooked up to a 19-volt power supply, the PC heats up quickly. Since it works with up to 24 volts, it could heat up even faster, but I'll take the speed I need. The plan is to connect a silicone insulated cable to a replacement terminal for a Makita battery in order to make this entirely cordless. I can then use my Makita batteries to power the soldering iron when I don't have an outlet in the vicinity. I have used better soldering irons (even better than Weller) but this is still the best one.
