There is only a tiny magnetic field around the little pockets that contain screws. I really like these mats - great quality This is a thick, well finished product. Because it is the "larger" size of this one, it has more useful working space. I like it for small jobs since I don't need to move my larger mat or still-use it for small jobs. ESD mat with a larger surface area. There are a few more parts compartments than on some other mats, that make this mat better, in my opinion. I think you will be very pleased with these mats as long as you understand 100% silicone mats will never be ESD safe. In fact, there are some silicone formulations close to static-free, but for some reason, they do not seem to be popular yet on the consumer market. Although some of these can start to pick up a stronger charge, this is usually pretty minimal. There is still enough risk here if you are working with particularly sensitive components, so you should use a legit ESD surface instead of this one and set it up correctly rather than Flux and solder spatter don't stick to it so it is very easy to clean, and you would have to leave a very hot iron on it for quite a long time before it would damage the surface, but even then this is so minimal that it's unimportant. The presence of acetone and alcohol is also not an issue. Lint or dust from around the house will easily stick to these - they can easily be cleaned. If they are in good condition, you can rinse them with hot water and let them air dry, or you can spray them generously and wipe them The fact that a mylar zip bag is used over the factory plastic wrap is a little puzzling This product makes marketing easier but it certainly adds to the costs. However, it's a good buy because of its general purpose qualities. Also, if you'd like to find silicone and a larger size, here are some kitchen products you might like Some are thicker than others (about 2mm) and do not have compartments, and they work just fine without needing to buy a much more expensive and larger bench mat for electronics.
This is the second of two that I purchased My son will use it for his One for my crafts, the other for my writing. I am very pleased with my son's (5 stars) work. There isn't much of a difference in crafting Gray mats are better than blue mats. It would be better if the mats were white since they won't interfere with color perception. White mats remain the best choice for craftspeople, but those are expensive. The little holes at the top are very appealing to my son. Although they're out of my way, I'm glad they're not there anymore. Perhaps I would be more enthusiastic if there were sequins or beads to adorn my dress. A nice, useful mat of good size with a lip that keeps things from rolling off, and is thick enough to protect surfaces from heat, ink stains, glue, etc. (but not I like my glass mat better for micro glitter, but this is more portable. Glue and glitter stick to it more than I expected. Especially if you are on a tight budget, this is a good choice for a crafter. Because it seems to be great for what it is designed to do, I'm giving it five stars. As a crafter, I wanted to share my impressions in case it might be of interest to others.
I find the magnetic strip to be more of an annoyance than The magnetic pull is not that strong, but when a component is really close (and is less than a centimeter away), you can feel it. There may not be any need for any additional mechanisms to prevent some components from slipping There are a lot of tiny dividers (which I believe is most of them) which don't seem that useful, but I'm not frequently using them when organizing the teardown or kit building I do. The mat keeps my work surface from becoming scorched by my 800F soldering iron when I tape components to paper with giant labels.
But I also tape components to paper with giant labels for their values. In addition, it is not They provide good skid, making it difficult for components to slide down, making it easier for one to wrestle components while holding an iron in one hand. I may not do that very often. I'm finding it harder to clean the mat than I expected.
I really like how well made this mat is. In any case, I would never use it for a Raspberry Pi or Cell Phone project. The mat generates a lot of static electricity when it is lifted and moved. Generally, this is the best option for things like Watch/Jewelry repair, or for soldering true analog devices (cables, RCA terminals, and.
You're right, it is mostly used This works well for that purpose. The pad also comes with some great features that make it stand out. This is my favorite kind of paper because it is thick and nice. The second thing it has are several little recessed pockets in which parts and screws can be kept. It's great that they are numbered, so that I can write down where the screws go. There are two shades of gray on the pad. With this color, you'll find it easy on your eyes, but it also produces a nice contrast between the parts, which makes them easy to distinguish. A color that doesn't reflect light into your eyes is also a good choice. Those of you who have seen my photos have probably noticed there are a few stains on the mat. You can trust me that the mat was clean when it arrived (and it is also very convenient to clean).
Although I cannot recommend or rate this product highly, I can give it a good rating. The first time I got it, it had an awful, horrible chemical smell that I couldn't stand. I had to wash it three times just to get rid of Despite the fact that the product is heat resistant, it doesn't perform well when it comes to keeping dirt and other small particles away. The mat sticks to dust, lint, paper, and small pieces of PLA filament. Each one of these adheres to the mat and cannot easily be removed. This has taken so long to wash that I find it to be nothing more than a hassle. Depending on how you see it, it might be fine for you to have it look messy or smell like chemicals all the time, but I sure don't.
