It was purchased to hold PCBs and small items both for soldering and for testing with a microscope. There is nothing that cannot be repaired- The design and materials should be good. My benchtop microscope has magnets on each arm, and I like that I can remove from the base and install them on other things (such as the bases on other devices). So I keep 3 on the provided base and 1 on the base of my microscope. Having very flexible arms is very important - In any orientation I put them in, they bend easily and stay in place. Product is great and I have no negative things to say about it.

Rubber protectors that slide on the alligator clips are thick, but they can be inserted easily and protect your electronic components. In fact, my box came with a holder for an iron as well. I was very pleased with the fit and finish of all the pieces. This is the first time that I paid less than I expected.

It has solved several problems already and is an awesome tool. It is such an improvement over the Radio Shack device that consisted of a small black base and pivoting metal arms having wind nuts to tighten them. The magnets allow the arms to hold up to a great deal of weight with no Furthermore, I like having the ability to place the magnetic arms anywhere on the plate or on any metal surface to customize the task. Since the plate is thick and has a lot of weight, the entire unit does not move during a project. This is a great product in general.

This is awesome that these hands are helping! These tool helped me solder some wires that I had to connect as part of my Z scale train project. I would never have imagined how useful these were as making sure that wires are steady when soldering. It is great that the hands are highly adjustable and that the bases are magnetic, making it easy to move the hands around when needed, and take them off when not in use. Despite being thin, it is made of a very sturdy, thick piece of metal, and the rubber pads keep it firmly As long as you don't put much weight on the hands when you operate this unit, it won't move at an inopportune time. If you do a lot of soldering, it is highly recommended that you purchase It wasn't a big deal for me, and I'm not sorry. There is, however, a weak wrist on one arm. With the exception of one arm, this has a nice beefy steel base.
