Questions & Answers
I'm not sure what you're looking for.
Sort of. Version 1 is the 64-bit version. It allows you to use the tab key on the Mac, but it only produces the same results as the space bar. There is no such thing as proper tab spacing. You can't get away with using tabs to organize your text in TextEdit. The tabs become simple spaces once the text is copied/pasted into Smart Label Printer.
Are you certain they're loaded correctly, with the black markings on the right side?
Yes. Using Windows 7 at the moment.

For the past 20 years, I've been using Seiko label printers. My old 400 printer died, so I replaced it with a new 650 model. The printer is in excellent condition. The software that came with it, on the other hand, is incomprehensible. It was nearly impossible for me to make any changes to an existing label, so I had to create a new one. I called tech support after being frustrated by an unhelpful Help menu and was told that I could update my old software and it would work on the new printer. That's exactly what I did, and the result was fantastic! 7. a new version Previously, there was no software, but now there are seven. I found the new printer right away, and I had all of my old label addresses ready for me. I deduct two stars for the 650 software, which is overly ambitious and has a poor Help menu.
I previously owned and used a Seiko SLP200. They are dissatisfied because they no longer use the same database as before and have not been able to find a way to import the old database. Unlike my old 200, which required me to plug and unplug power and USB, as well as restarting my PC frequently, Windows 10 automatically detects this printer. The new software does not meet my expectations. The different font options are no longer displayed as examples, making it extremely difficult to choose; after all, who knows what 200 fonts look like from memory? Perhaps I need to spend more time learning and playing with the software, but there isn't much available in the way of literature. I noticed some YouTube videos that I need to watch.
The "Smart Label Creator" is my biggest complaint with the SLP 650. This is one of the most overly complex pieces of software I've ever encountered. This software is nearly impossible to use unless you work for a large corporation with database managers. I estimated that learning how to use this software would take me two weeks, and the software documentation stated that the SLP450 format could not be used for labels or templates. [FYI: Since the 100 series, I've used Seiko Label Printers. ] I'd already processed a return (but hadn't yet returned the SLP 650) when it occurred to me that I might not need to use the "Smart [I call it 'Dumb'] Label Creator"; That the SLP 650 might be able to run on the same software as the SLP 450. Because the SLP 650 used the same software, I was able to use all of the labels and templates that I had previously created. This would have been a 1-star rating if I hadn't discovered it myself. a 5-star rating br>br>In terms of printing speed, the SLP 650 is significantly faster than the SLP 450. Print quality suffers as a result of the increased speed. The SLP 650 also comes with a powerful, high-quality speaker. The SLP 450 made a high-pitched whine, whereas the SLP 450 was almost silent. In addition, I've had to change some of my fonts and make other adjustments because some of the fonts I used on the SLP 450 don't work as well on the SLP 650 (e. g. , Arial). , characters are too close together, print is too dark, and so on. )br>br>My main gripe with the SLP 450 is the difficulty in getting the labels to feed straight. The labels frequently become crooked, necessitating the opening of the printer to straighten them out. In addition, the SLP 450's top is extremely difficult to open. In comparison to the SLP 650, the SLP 450 is a slightly better printer. The older printer was more expensive, but it did a better job in the long run. But I'm happy enough with the SLP 650 that I'm keeping it. Both printers will be used.
This is a fantastic little label printer. It's something I wish I'd discovered earlier. It's faster and easier to use than the Dymo printers I've previously purchased. br>br>When I first started using Mac computers, I used Seiko Smart Label Printers. I couldn't find one for some reason, so I went with Dymo. That worked fine for a long time-- It worked for a while, but then it didn't. Over the last couple of years, I've been extremely frustrated. I've had to update my Mac system to OS X version 10. 2 ever since. 5. My Dymo printer wouldn't turn on. I bought a new one, assuming it would work because it was labeled as Mac. It worked for a short time, then stopped working. I restarted it, and it failed again- this time, and for good. br>br>After consulting with my technical adviser, I decided to look for a different brand, and I "rediscovered" the Seiko Smart Label Printer. I was blown away by how simple it was to set up, enter, and print the labels I use on a regular basis. On my old Dymo label printers, it would have taken me hours to do so. This one is a definite winner! br>br>.
Because older label files are incompatible with new software, the software receives a three-star rating. The 440 printer and Label Printer software were used as a starting point. I had to replace the 440 printer because the internal USB connector was loose and intermittent. Our second 440 printer is experiencing the same issue. Based on this observation, I believe it is a manufacturing defect that affects the entire platform. br>br>The newer 650 printer is very fast, but it makes a lot of noise while printing. The new Label "Creator" software has a much better interface, but (here's the catch) it won't read label files created with the previous version, Label "Printer. " Although databases can be converted, the Help menu confirms that the old label file format "cannot be used in any way. " "br>br>On old Label "Printer" software, the 650 Printer functions perfectly. I haven't used the newer software because all of my labels are created on the older software. I had just started using the new program and had spent hours trying to figure out why I couldn't find or print my old labels when, in a stroke of brilliance, I went to the Help menu's FAQ section and confirmed that the label files are incompatible between the older and newer software. br>br>The secret information that was not disclosed on the product description is the file incompatibility.
