It works, but it takes some effort to get it in the right position to lock. For a valve that is turned off and left, this would suffice. However, it is inconvenient for a valve that is frequently used and opened/locked in the dark. I haven't used any other types of lockouts, but this one isn't quite as good as I had hoped before receiving it. It's a bit of a clumsy design that requires some fiddling to get into a tight off position. The product is of good quality, but unless set and left off with infrequent use, it is a rather crude solution. I simply reinstalled the valve lock, which worked quite well when tightened a little more. Perhaps there is a learning curve, and tightening it is becoming easier. Now I'd give it a couple of more stars. For a small piece of metal with no moving parts, it's still a bit pricey. br>br>OK, now that I've been using the lockout for a while, I'd like to revise my response. I've decided that the lockout works fine after many uses; it took me a while to get used to it, but I'm now satisfied with how it functions. After a few uses, I think I've figured out how to jiggle it a little and become more comfortable with it. As a result, I would now recommend the product and give it a rating of four stars. Maybe five, but it's a simple device; in any case, it works, I'm happy with it, and I'd buy another one if I needed to. I apologize for the delay in responding, but I needed to provide an update.
It's a good product that does its job. The only flaw I can find is that it does not fit snugly.
It's simple to put together and it does the job.
Junk! Metal that is not too expensive. On the first try, I was able to bend it with the valve handle without exerting any effort.
It's a nice piece that doesn't take up a lot of space in your toolbox.
We were unable to install this on our outdoor faucet due to technical difficulties.
