It would be wise to consult the SDS for the particular type of diesel you will be using

It may be a better option to use a metal drum for storage of pure diesel if the fuel is flammable, corrosive, or reactive.

In the lid as well as in the clamp there is plastic. A 3/4 inch thick wood lid is made from 3/4 inch plywood and a 1/2 inch groove is routered for sealing. My wife and I went to Lowes to buy a wire basket and Harbor Freight to buy a dolly.

In the locking lever ring, there is a plastic ring. Considering that I have to open and close the container frequently, I can see that this will be an issue. It seems inevitable that it will happen sooner than later when the plastic is this thin. I think it's not bad, but it's not meant for heavy use or long-term.

I've bought one before and it was fine. But this time it was shipped in plastic then thrown into a box and relabeled. Despite its age, this tank has a thin spot on its side and a gouge in its bottom.
