Is it possible to hold liquids in these without any issues?

There is no problem with them holding liquid due to their inner seal at the point of contact where the lid sits on top of the drum, however if the material attacked the seal and caused it to extrude then it would not hold, so be cautious about using hydrocarbon in the container.
