Based on my impressions and observations, I have come to these conclusions.
There is no reason at all why one of these barrels should be shipped unwrapped by USPS. I didn't get a box, I didn't get any plastic wrap. As it arrived, the barrel had a big dent on the upper reinforcement band. The dent was about a third of the length of the barrel and even after I tried to pop it out, it is still there in two spots about the size of my fist. I will not be able to use the barrel for anything other than food storage once the integrity of it has been compromised. It has an extremely strong plastic/chemical smell that makes me wonder about storing MH food pouches in this barrel, but I will have to wait until it "airs out" for a while and then sits sealed for a while to find out if it still smells. The review should only take one month to complete, then I will update it. A small bit of scuffing was also evident on the barrel band, as if someone dragged the barrel over cement while upside down. The device worked as expected, being filled with water just in case of a power outage (we are in the middle of a power outage). It fits perfectly with the hand pump and locks tight. Filling is easy with the smaller hole that is also compatible with the hose.

As much as I would have given it 4 stars, I had to take a star off due to the bad gasket for the lid. Due to a rubber gasket, the gasket should be rated for solids. However, it shouldn't start falling apart after a couple of weeks. This spigot turned out to be great. I drilled a hole for it (ASIN B00NX697C0) and it works correctly. Naturally, one of the bungs needs to be opened so the water can drain. Consequently, I find myself in the following position In terms of the bungs, I would like to see a mesh filter/guard included. It is possible to buy them separately because they are available, but how much would they cost if they were included? My best money ever spent was on buying this along with the Terapump and a rolling dolly.
