These aren't particularly heat resistant. I'm a repair welder on a steel foundry, and I frequently have to lean inside the castings to reach some close quarters welds. They're standard grade, not the heat resistant shields I've used in the past. So far, I've melted four of them. I never melted one of the heat resistant varieties in over a year of use. They fit the helmet perfectly, and I imagine they'd be fine if I could keep my work at arm's length all the time, but they don't meet my needs, so I've given them three stars. I would not have bought them if "Standard" had been mentioned in the description.
