With sealed ball bearings and stainless steel construction, this pulley is of good design. Regardless, the execution is subpar. The pockets in the bear ring were too large (tolerance was too loose), and the bearing simply fell out. That means there's no way of knowing whether the rotation takes place in the bearing or between the outside bearing ring and the pocket. Furthermore, the "shaft" was a bolt that was threaded all the way through, so there was no cylindrical surface to support the bearing's inner ring. In addition, the bearing bolt was too loose. To compensate for the fact that the bracket is wider than the pulley, washers are used. At first glance, this appears to be a good idea, but the gar is just big enough for a 3/16" cable wire to get stuck between the pulley and the bracket. Needless to say, this is not a good situation!.

For a loft ladder lift, I purchased four of these. They appear to be sturdy, but they must be disassembled before a lag bolt can be attached, and they are held together by an e-clip. I spent an hour removing the clip from the first one with pliers and screwdrivers. The clip eventually flew off and was lost in the process, and it was replaced with new ones because it was likely unsafe in its current state. The replacement was too small. I returned all of them because the lag bolt head appeared to rub against the 3/8" cable over time.

I'm working on a pullover. a down set consisting of this pulley and carabiner, a second swivel pulley (from the same vendor), a rope, and a pulley handle to the left The pulley has a lot more capacity in terms of weight and size than I need, and it's made of solid steel with low friction. The spring lock washer that holds the shaft in place is opened with a washer tool. This can be seen in the table of contents. The reason for this is to allow the bracket to be installed without having to remove the pulley wheel. In my case, I wanted to drive a lag screw into an overhead beam from the base. There's no way to do it without taking out the pulley wheel. This isn't an issue; in fact, it's quite the opposite. It's just how this type of hardware works, and it's actually a feature in my opinion.
