My first action was to open it and examine the bearing. I don't know of any. The bushing on the crankshaft does not rotate due to lack of lubrication, and I tried to move it several times before deciding it wasn't moving. In a bearing, there is an interior, circular chamber filled with ball bearings, grease, and an axle inserted and sealed that rotates independently of the axle of the frame on which it mounts. The wheel is on an axle and it's simple. In light of all that, I revised this review after giving it a petroleum bath and hooking it up to my weight machine. With a bit of friction and heat, it came to life with There is not as much fluidity and zippy performance as a ball bearing packed axle, but it does a good job as an old world style axle. On a dog run, I used this to replace a wheel that broke (and was later replaced by something similar). As opposed to disconnecting the old line, he broke it off. The item was delivered on time, is sturdy, and the top can be adjusted. I'm planning to use it as a project to lift up and down for my aquarium, to hang an LED lamp on the ceiling. A rope of no more than 3/8 in diameter can be used.
As part of the process of repairing my track, I had to replace a cheap pulley I bought from the orange box. Even though it has been through a dozen rain storms it continues to work smoothly without the cable coming off the pulley one time.
Good product at a good price I needed exactly what I needed for my rack to skin deer.
