You raise a good point! Your magnet may get stuck or snagged from time to time. I would use a mechanical advantage to free the snag in this case, such as a chain puller attached to a solid object to release the chain. I would do the same on a boat, except that there is a possibility that the boat may not be stiff enough to let go of the magnet depending on how it is caught. Unless otherwise stated or instructed, any attempts to retrieve the magnet if it becomes stuck are done at your own risk.

A little more money is worth it

Or this kit stinks! I either got a bad magnet or this kit is junk! It slipped off a metal rail with just a slight pull of the rope because it was put on purpose. As a result, it was attached to a few things but then nothing stayed on it after I used it in a prime spot where people like to dump their trash. In addition to that, the rope also came damaged. It was already falling apart when I received it. I haven't tried to hook it yet, but it's really so light weight and so small that it's not likely to stay intact if it snaps. The kit you can buy for $40 more is far better. Despite the gloves being cheap, they were good for what I was doing and I only gave it two stars because of the case's good quality.

I would not be caught dead with a grappling hook in my pocket. At the top of the grasping hook is an aluminum hook sawed from a lock washer, not welded, and it is nothing more than an aluminum lock washer. It all boils down to this I would never buy this product.

Magnets are weaker and less durable than this one. One of the islets that came with it is barely strong enough to hold on? Money waisted and disappointed, it would be impossible to catch anything out of this because it does not have the strength.

It was the first starter set I got him There was nothing he did not like about The magnet has been tested out at his house (now that it is too cold to go magnet fishing, everything is frozen over) and he was VERY impressed with how strong it However, he will likely need a heavier set of gloves since these seem like they can wear out rather quickly aside from that, I am very impressed.

Don't waste it. In the specification, it states that the magnet has a rating of 1350 lbf. If you are trying to pull something weighing 5 pounds from the water, you may not be able to. The 1350# magnet I have is by far the weakest I have ever seen. I have one rated for 750# and it totally kicks this one in the nuts. It would be a lot happier if you bought the competition's brand rather than the one you are thinking of buying.

Powered by a strong magnet! Definitely worth the money, it holds onto just about anything you get in the way. Wasn't sure what to expect when I bought it, but it's definitely worth it. The magnet is very strong, and it will hold firmly onto glass or metal. There is also a lot of rope to help you get to the deeper parts of the cave. You've made my day!.
