Magnet fishing is a type of fishing where you use a magnet to It's the excitement of not knowing what you're going to find. Look for a public landing or a bridge. Toss the rope into the water/river by tying it to the magnet. and see what you can come up with.
. At the very least, you're removing items from the water that shouldn't be there.
I'm not sure, but I think it's worth a shot. It would not be a viable option to leave the lights on.

I'm not pleased with this at all; the rope snapped the first time I threw it in the water, and I lost my magnet.
My magnet was only good for a day or two. The weak link is the eye bolt that attaches to the magnet. In addition, there appears to be no customer service. There are no exchanges or refunds. There is no one available for chat or phone service, and it appears that there is no way to replace anything.
I'm currently using it as a window deciration in my nautical themed windowsill, despite the fact that it's terribly welded and a little scary in that regard. With a few items from the hardware store and Amazon, I was able to upgrade this 1000lb (500lb/side) kit. To secure the bolt to the magnet, you'll need Locktite thread glue ($5) or a similar thread locker glue. With a little tinkering, I was able to fit the entire kit into two old Rubbermaid food storage containers. Magnet had a bolt attached with Locktite, which was left to harden for 24 hours before cutting the foam to fit the bolt. I slid it into the container after that. The bottom of the magnet's shipping foam was also cut short to help close the lid (see closeup magnet photo). Gloves and Locktite, along with the extra bolt that came with it, fit perfectly. The 65' rope that came with the kit (blue rope in my photos) came with one carabiner that isn't great, but it gets the job done. I bought an 8-pack of screw-lock carabiners for $11 on Amazon and put a few in that Rubbermaid, then tied one to the other end of the rope for added security. Finally, my local Ace Hardware had a yellow 100-foot rope with a 750-pound capacity for $10. To keep it all together, I used a 36" rubber strap that also serves as a small carrying handle. With the exception of a little heat shrink to secure my knots, this kit is ready to use for this novice! It's a good magnet to do your own upgrades to, and it comes with a good amount of equipment to get you started. Finally, the gloves are comfortable but a little snug. But I'm a big guy, 6'1" with big hands. It was only natural. When these wear out, I'll switch to a different pair of gloves.

I was a little hesitant to order this because the sellers' magnets all looked the same and there were some negative reviews. I haven't used it yet, but I have tested it on a variety of metal tools from my toolbox, and it works great. It has a strong magnet and comes with an extra threaded eye bolt, to which I added a stainless steel washer to complement the lock washer provided. The grappling hook is nicely welded and appears to be strong; the gloves are adequate; my hands are medium in size, but a person with large hands would have no trouble fitting into them because they stretch quite a bit. Rope is similar to the material used to pull a water skier with a carabiner attached.
Even though it has no weight to sink it where you really want it, I was ecstatic that it came with the grapple. The magnet is exactly as described; however, I spent $4 at Walmart on threadlocker. I've caught 5 crab cages and rings, as well as a ton of strange metal and other items, for a total of 94 dollars. There have been no problems, and I plan to purchase more so that we can bring friends along and they won't have to just hold the camera. It got snagged once and I thought I had lost it, but it ended up tearing through a metal crab cage that was caught on a pair about 40 ft down, so the s.

The grappling hook is a nice addition that isn't included in other kits, as well as the strong rope and sturdy magnet. This purchase has made me very happy!.
