304 stainless steel is the only kind that is truly corrosion resistant. I would expect that it would be rated at least for 12,000 pounds. Neither the seller nor the buyer should take any risks. ?

A stainless steel handkerchief is not a stainless steel one. There's nothing more to it than galvanization. A magnet was used to test it. There is no magnetic attraction between magnet and I can't get it to move.

Would it be possible to cut it?

There are three things I wrapped up I used 4 layers of 2" duct tape with about an 1/8" gap, along with a die grinder to cut the spaces between each layer of I have no problems at all. You might need to leave a larger gap if you are using a thicker cutoff wheel.

A while ago, I opened the box (had it for a long time). This is not a certified product The cable is not described in the description on Amazon, except with respect to the basic specs of the cable. There is no case, just a cellophane sleeve for the cable.
