The crane appears to have been made in the United States. China is written on the life jack. For me, it works fine. Thanks
This unit is designed to lift items from the ground to the height of the truck bed, then rotate into the cargo area.
This winch is equipped with a friction brake, which locks automatically when the operator turns the handle counterclockwise. Lower the load by turning the wheel counterclockwise.
It does not lock in the one I have. It's a free-wheeling winch, but I simply use the turning handle (shown in the photo) to stop it where I want it. For me, it's a good fit.

For my service truck, I purchased this crane. I'm a technician, and I've always had a need for one. I am a certified welder, and the installation required some fabrication. You could probably just bolt it to a bumper or something, but I couldn't (due to my truck's layout). I work in the security industry and first used this on a security bollard project, which went well for the first couple of bollards until one got stuck in the pit. I noticed the crane was bent at the flange while attempting to pull it up on the 500lb setting. The arm and the base are joined by this flange. A bearing and a brass sleeve are included on the inside. The bearing did not appear to be able to withstand the pressure and eventually broke. I know the bollard is under 500 pounds, and no more force was used than was required. br>br>At least in my case, I'd spend the extra $500 on a much more durable crane.
They don't have very good welds on them. This is a fantastic little jib crane. They have mediocre welds, but they are better than most. I believe I purchased it in January of 2016. I only recently had the opportunity to complete the attachment for my truck! It looks fantastic on the truck, and all I have to do now is replace my leaf springs and I'll be good to go! br>br>7/15/16: br>br>7/15/16: br>br>7/15/16: I had no trouble lifting my generac 17500watt (500lbs) into my truck. 12/5/16: br>br> 1000 pound weightlifting 7. The 500lb slot is used by three diesel engines. This is something I've done a number of times before. As a result, the ram is weak.
I ordered this unit with other orange colored ones as well from a different company, the S10 and the one ton, yes there was a difference in price, I believe the value in price has come around, even tho the price is higher for this vehicle, it is a good investment The swivel column has a screw-in lock, but it isn't as effective as I'd like it to be. br>br>Another thing I'll probably change is the boom extension, which has a pin instead of a bolt because one of the last things anyone wants to do is go wrench hunting to extend the boom. The stock bed floor isn't designed or made to withstand abuse so anyone that gets it will have to use it when they're mounting a tool. A ring on the base would be a nice addition, for transportation and transport.
This mini crane is mounted in the bed of my 6x6, and it's a great set-up when combined with the small 3K Super winch I bought to mount on it. br>Perfect for my needs, whether it's loading steel plate, concrete bags, or firewood logs into the bed of my M928 6x6, which has a capacity of about 4. This crane, which stands at 8 feet tall, is ideal for the job. br>br>Controlling the load is simple, even from ground level, thanks to the bearings inside the rotating mast's bottom. It is just tall enough to fit under the truck bed canopy (military m928 truck) and works well for truck bed mounting. br>br>At times, I wish it had a longer boom, but overall, I'm satisfied with it.
Crane arrived promptly and was relatively simple to assemble. I put it together in about 30 minutes. This was mounted on a Taylor Dunn/Nordskog electric truck and used to transport items around the farm. My expectations for the set-up were far exceeded. When you get the hang of it, the crane appears to be very sturdy and useful. The pull pin is a great addition to this crane to extend the boom from the 1000lb configuration to the 500lb configuration; otherwise, you'll have to get some wrenches out to remove the bolt. The friction screw to keep the crane from rotating is very inadequate as it is very small and difficult to loosen after you tighten it and drive around a bit. The hydraulic pump performs admirably, but I wish it had more travel per pump because raising the boom takes a long time. Otherwise, it works as it should, and I've had no problems picking up items weighing 400 pounds. It also looks great on my little pickup truck:.
After three months, the product had failed. Wench's teeth were broken, and the company offered a 30-day warranty.
I used it to change the transfercase of a military 5 ton truck, which weighed 660 pounds. It went off without a hitch. This is a fantastic purchase.
After installing the jib crane on the back of my service truck, I no longer have to worry about getting heavy equipment into and out of the truck bed without injuring myself or causing damage to the equipment.
