How much do you think is needed to pick up a slab ?

There is enough room to pick up slabs up to 5' by 10' and up to 1' by 2'. It does not matter how thick it is. Our purpose for it is to do that. My best wishes go out to you!

Do you think it would work for the scrap to pick up small trees of 400 to 500 pounds?

At our location, I use this to pick up heavy handling equipment from the ground that weighs up to 5,000 pounds. As far as I can tell, the only concern is that it doesn't secure well enough on the forks so that it won't slide off when tilting the forks forward, so there is need for a chain to make it so that it won't slip

To what extent can these fork pockets fit forks of what width and height?

The dimensions of the box are 2 inches by 4 to 5 inches high

Our shop specializes in repairing autos and trucks, so I purchased this to go on the forklift we have. We will primarily use it to move engines, transmissions, and differentials. As far as what we intend to use it for goes, it seems to be well built and to be equipped with more than enough capacity. a reach of about 6ft, you should be able to pull engines out of vehicles much more easily. An attachment such as this can be used in a million different ways. Do not attempt to lift more weight than the machine you are using can lift without damaging it. Another thing to keep in mind is the capacity of your lifting equipment. A crane attachment can pick up the 5,000 lb at the first hook with this attachment. Despite its appearance alone, we should be able to depend on this for many years to come. I thank Amazon and Titan for their help.
