It was bought so I could hoist an attachment for my tractor mounted on a backhoe. 800 pounds is the weight of the backhoe. The hoist arrived in a scruffy box that was mushed, but still intact. Within there was the chain enclosed in a plastic bag, and it was, of course, coated with preserve. That was to be expected, and after cleaning it up I mounted it on the In addition to running smoothly, both chains on the hoist were extremely steady, handled this weight very well, and the structure did not crack under this weight. We are happy with the quality of the product and it will make a welcome addition to our store. I have never seen any models that run both chains in proper chain wheels rather than four spacers as I have with others. In my case, the brake worked as expected and held the load while I repositioned the shoring below.

The capacity of the two tons is correct, but it could be doubled

There are so many times when you read a review and realize that something is rated but only ends up doing a fraction of what it claims, however, this is an exception. Despite being rated at 2 tons, I have little doubt that you could actually double that amount. There should always be a much greater ratio between rating and capability, and this is the case here.
