Are the mounting plates on the 2" casters set up differently? 1 7/8" squares are the size of my table legs. ?

The wheels I purchased measure 3 inches wide by 3 5/8 inches long, and the plate is 2 1/2 inches high by 3 5/8 inches wide. As far as the measurement for the 2 inch wheels goes, I cannot comment. You might want to visit Amazon's website and ask a question. That's all I have for now.

The casters swivel and roll easily, and they swivel and roll well. I had no problem installing the screws because there was plenty of room to do so (some casters are tricky to install). They were mounted on a shop stool that had previously had post casters by mounting 3/4" plywood where the old casters had been. It is no wonder that I spend a lot of time rolling around my workshop on these casters. The quality seems excellent so far time will tell if they will hold up in the long run.

This has been glued to the plywood I use to set my computer equipment cabinet on, so the back is easier to access. I like it very much. Has a smooth roll. Later on, I got another set to use with my Dust Collector and Shop Vac.
