On the day I bought my first house in 1977, I went to the local store and purchased two Rubbermaid wastebaskets, one for the kitchen, Years ago, a cracked one in the workshop was subjected to more abuse. Two or more times a day, the kitchen trash can is dragged in and out of its home under the sink. It's here (37 years later. As you probably already know, I wanted another Rubbermaid container. I couldn't find the right size at the store, but this is perfect. It's the same height and width as the old one, so it fits under the sink in just the right spot. The color of the shipping bag is wrong. A commercial 7-piece plastic collection from Rubbermaid Don't order this item expecting a beige trash can. Gallon Trash Can, Beige. There is a dull brown color to the surface The gray color Moreover, it arrived plastered with inventory and shipping stickers, and covered in snow, dirt and scuff marks due to not being shipped in a protective box or bag! After soaking and scrubbing for an hour, I will be able to get rid of all the stickers and dirt/scuff marks. I desperately wanted something like this for my kitchen, since I was tired of spending time taking each and every recyclable item out and placing it in my city's recycling Being someone who recycles an excessive amount, I needed something that can collect my recyclables, so I could put them in a bucket at the end of each day and empty them into my larger bin at the end of the day. I have used it for a while now, and I use either a trash bag the size of 8 gallon or the size of 13 gallon depending on what I have available. It has been great, very sturdy, with a nice recycling logo, and seems easy to clean. This is something I would highly recommend.
