The pad is nice and thick, but how thick is it? Is this product suitable for being used under a 12x18 orbital floor sander between the plastic sander wheels and sand paper?

There should be a peelable adhesive paper covering the back of the sand paper. It is not an orbital machine. It is an oscillating machine. The white pad should hold the sand paper in place.
