Underneath there is nothing, the metal is expanded. You'll find that the fines will remain in the sluice once you take it off, so you ought to put a pan underneath and carefully wash them into it.
It should be flipped over on its flatter side. You should be able to catch the heaviest sands in it. In case you are not, you may experience water going under the mat.
It likely wouldn't clamp down all that tight with expanded metal, but when I used expanded metal with riffless, it did clamp down tightly, so it should be fine without it.
We do not recommend this product for horses because it is relatively soft. Prospecting is what it was designed for. Because of this material and how it grips surfaces, it could cause too much friction, leading to issues. It would be better to use fabric that is breathable and moisture wicking, which will not make a difference.

it is not the best miners moss out there, it will do the job, as far as dependability, or the ability to resist wear, I will have to put a few hundred yards of material through it to see how well it holds up. Unlike most miners moth , this one has a distinct floor side or flat side for more efficient recovery of gold , so it should work just fine . I'll update this review after I use it to recover gold.

The fabric can be trimmed easily. Gold even in the smallest sizes is caught. You have some great stuff there. What you have here is right.
Due to the stock shortage, I was not able to get any HogMoss and chose Compared to what I expected, it's a little less flexible. Since it works OK, I will let it slide for the price. There is a chance that finer gold will not catch. Spending more for a higher quality would be the ideal solution if you are not in a hurry.
This will fit pretty much any sluce box and is easy to install. To test the Prospectors dream mat the following day I am using this verses the green carpet that comes standard in the keene A52.
The miner's moss in this picture is our favorite. When gold is placed against blue, it is easily seen. The material is well captured. Our custom sluice boxes can easily fit this device. Good value for the price. It is a good product. I will.
Don't lose your gold by cutting it, placing it, or placing it in the wrong place. Quite a few things can be said, other than the fact that it is either a great product or that you did not need minor.
A big chunk of gold that really clings to fine The quality was excellent for the price. I would certainly order this again in the future.
