It is easier to get it on Amazon than If the system requires slip or spigot fittings, please make sure you know what you need. There is no one way to deal with them. The 11/2 inch pipe is slipped into the fitting and the spigot goes over it.

Once you spread apart the pipes, it's fairly easy to install and keep in place. If not, good luck.

I was not aware that this item is not threaded until I purchased it to replace one of my portable extractors, both sides of the new valve are smooth, not threaded wish I had known before I purchased it.

The seal is solid, there are A year after purchasing this valve to replace one that wouldn't close completely, I can honestly say that no leaks have emerged from it
