What is the diameter of the thread on the rod that screws into the handle?

The thread is 1/4 x 20 in size.

This fitting has a nearly 2-inch inside diameter. My pipe has a 1.25 inch outside diameter. 5 inches. What's the best way to stick the two together? Is there a need for an adapter?

You'll need an adapter if it's nearly 2 inches long. My 1. The valve fit the 5 inch pipe perfectly snugly. Has your gate valve been sent to the wrong person? Is there one in it? Is there a 5 inch stamp on the unit?

Does 1- 1/2" Slip denotes a 1-inch inside diameter. 1/2 inch, or a one-half inch Is it possible to wrap a 1/2" hose around the ring on the outside? This is something I'd like to use with my swimming pool hoses. ?

The Valterra 6101 valve is designed to affix to a 1-inch diameter pipe. The inside diameter of 1/2" schedule 40 pipe is 2 inches, and the outside diameter is 1/2". 375".

I currently have valves from Menards on the suction side (before the pump) that leak air into the system. Will these also leak air into the system?

Before the settling tank and pump, I have a valve. I'm using a 4000 gallon-per-hour pump that doesn't appear to be leaking any air.

For a small dust collection system, a less expensive alternative blast gate is available

This is exactly what I used in a DIY dust collection system for my workshop (much less expensive than 4" blast gates and tubes, and just as effective for a small shop). br>br>They've been working flawlessly for a few months now. Even after a lot of sawdust has passed through them, the gates are simple to open and close. It creates an airtight seal and the gates are pre-installed. lubricated to extend their life and make opening and closing easier. The fittings were snug, and the body surrounding the gate was tough enough to withstand bumps and vibrations with ease.

I looked it up on Amazon to find out what it was called so I wouldn't sound silly asking for a "white valvey thing. " com had it, and for a reasonable price! Even paying a few extra dollars to get it faster was preferable to scouring the valley, wasting diesel and my wits. It's so much more convenient to simply click and have the Guy in Brown deliver it to my door in a small box.

The valve is set to full flow

Much superior to the valves found in big box stores. Water shutoff is complete and easy to open and close. There are no restrictions on the flow of information. I just went out and bought some more for a fountain.
